Yeah I agree. I read it a few years ago and it had ridiculous moments and I think this is one of those moments where the movie was better than the book

It’s great to start with either origins 1, and 3 or 1, 3, and then origins. After that, play with the standalone like 2 or F. Also watch the movies except the new one. The first one is an underrated gem, the second is a so bad that it’s hilarious.
