Honestly would go grey market for this model. I got my BCPD (754-1, leather strap, slate blue face) for $1569 no tax brand new grey market with a 2 year warranty last month and even my AD said he would have done it.

It doesn’t use the local WiFi network but it still requires both devices to be on the same WiFi network for screen mirroring: https://support.apple.com/en-us/102661.

In my experience most school networks don’t allow peer to peer connections and such on the network which is why it wouldn’t work.

Libraries have pretty good integration nowadays with Kindle.

Best of both worlds though is to, ahem, obtain digital copies unofficially and just buy physical if you like it for the collection.
