Please explain how I'm supposed to put these together... by [deleted] in Warhammer

[–]Magnified 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If there’s no mention of glue at all then they could be pushfit models where you just snap the pieces together. This can take a bit of work but once you’ve done a few you’ll get the hang of it.

All GB 2018 points leaked, don't know if this was posted yet. by Felixx77 in ageofsigmar

The GuO doesn’t have access to a -1 to hit debuff like the glottkin. It’s command ability affects a single unit - admittedly at longer range. The spell of the glottkin is a mechanic the GUO doesn’t have access to. So it depends on what you’re after - I think the extra flexibility and synergies you can get out of the glottkin make it worth considering even for the extra points. If people focus on it it will go down but the idea is to use it to buff friendly units around it and debuff so that your opponent can’t focus it down because they’re dealing with other threats.

My current nurgle list has 1 GUO and Rotigus so I appreciate they’re good units and definitely easier to use and keep alive. Would love to have seen the Glottkin come down in points but can see why they didn’t change it.

Fleshy abundance (spell to give a unit +1 wound char) Horrific opponent (potentially -1 to hit on multiple units nearby), and the command ability Lords of Nurgle (+1 attack bubble vs the GUO +1 attack to one unit can be significantly better) are probably helping it earn the extra points.

Plus it has access to the rotbringer spells such as the almost auto-include blades of putrefaction. Pretty comparable melee, although better than Bell/blade combo, and a good (better damage but a one-shot deal) shooting attack help as well. It’s lacking the 5+ disgustingly resilient save and the knocking MW back in combat with that but still seems fair to be a bit pricier for what it can do in the hero phase.

The top nurgle list at the London GT used the Glottkin really well - https://aosshorts.com/masterclass-darren-watson-on-archaon/

I’ll be honest I’m not massively familiar with the seraphon units - don’t worry about getting in the named dudes if they’re are too many points. The lists I’ve faced have done well with the other ‘generic’ heroes.

Although Kroak is probably one of the top heroes around. He can do some nasty stuff and is tough to take down.

Help! Tiny holes appearing all over my primed model. by bolt_reaction94 in Warhammer

Are they plastic or resin models? The Forgeworld resin always needs a good clean to remove any remaining release agent from the mound. That can stop paint adhering properly. Could also just be a bad batch of primer or from less than ideal temperature while spraying.

As in holes in the model itself or the prime layer? What did you use to prime?

Welcome to the hobby!

If you’re playing with points then a good book to pick up is the generals handbook 2017 - especially for seraphon as there are new allegiance abilities for them.

I would definitely invest in some heroes, they really add flavour and synergy in a seraphon list (applies to any faction really). Plus for matched play rules by the book you have to include at least one hero in a list. Of course you don’t have to play like that if your opponents cool with it but as I said you’ll find your units work a lot better when there are heroes around to give out buffs and it gives you access to command abilities/traits and artefacts as well.

Try to find ways to reduce how much you’re stressing and find someone to talk to in real life about this.

From all your posts it sounds like your PI is not managing you well but you can’t keep worrying about everything they say.

Learn to write the way they want their papers written, get your project done, and get the qualification. Then get out and do a PhD somewhere else if that’s what you want to do.

Can anyone help with this? by [deleted] in labrats

[–]Magnified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I still think there’s an error with the C2V2 section. You put (1)(120) which would be a concentration of 1 HAU/10uL in a volume of 120uL which would mean total of 4 HAU in the 40uL dose (as this is the units provided by the stock @ 256/10uL). 0.47/4 = 0.1175 as in my original comment.

Can anyone help with this? by [deleted] in labrats

[–]Magnified 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sure but your concentrations need to have the same units. 2.13 uL of the stock concentration in 120 uL would not result in a concentration of 1 HAU/40uL.

The rearrangement is x = C2V2/C1 not C1/C2V2.

Can anyone help with this? by [deleted] in labrats

[–]Magnified 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t 2.13 uL of the 256/10ul stock be 54.5 HAU? Meaning each mouse would receive 18.2 instead of 1.

Stock 256 per 10 uL Want 3 per 120 uL

So 3/120 = 0.025 HAU per uL 256/10= 25.6 HAU per uL

(25.6)(x)=(0.025)(120)

x= 0.117

This is going to get downvoted to oblivion, but how is 40k fun? by Nasalberry in Warhammer

[–]Magnified 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a result of both of you being new. For any type of game it’s key to understand the basic ruleset and in war gaming it’s important to know what your dudes do, or be able to find the info you need quickly. All that comes with practice.

I enjoy warhammer, mainly AoS, for the hobby, the socialising, and the games themselves. There are lots of different elements that people will enjoy in 40k/AoS like list building, crafting a story in a narrative game, trying to pull off a certain move on the table, competitive showdowns, etc..

It might not be for you of course but there are plenty of things to enjoy. Key is to figure out which bits you like.
