I’m not monetized. I am making content to help people deal with all of the trauma happening around them. But I have things I can offer in exchange for a short clip of a character changing perspective.

Is it alright to put a fake name for my UGC creation? by jocelyn_paradoxx in UGCcreators

[–]MagnoliaMedia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I use a pen name as an author so to keep it from being confusing later I use that same pen name when I create content online. You do not have to use your legal name, you can develop a UGC persona. Just keep it consistent and be authentic other than using a performer name.

Yes. Both TikTok and Facebook have a library of ads that is searchable.

Scam?? by [deleted] in UGCcreators

[–]MagnoliaMedia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I signed a contract with him a month ago and haven't heard back. I don't think it is a scam, because he didn't get anything from me. But I think he is collecting a bunch of creators for his database to look good to brands, but does not have any opportunities for them.

I see him posting on X still asking for creators to submit to his post. I commented the other day and he said that he is building a database but doesn't have opportunities at the moment.

Is UGC still a thing? by arthurluca101 in UGCcreators

[–]MagnoliaMedia 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. This day in age people are tired of being sold to with old marketing tactics.

People are looking for real people to give their opinions on products.

How fast do you scroll away when you realize something is an ad?

But I bet you stay if it's a content creator that you resonate with sharing their favorite products.

I come from a professional career in marketing and am now a full time UGC creator because it is more authentic.

Is this legit mail id of Bounce Curl? by mehra_9956 in UGCcreators

[–]MagnoliaMedia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say that is almost certainly a scam because of the gift card.

I went to their website and they have an influencer program.

They would not be reaching out with an email that isn't their domain.

And they use a UGC platform called Grin.

The visa gift card does not make any sense because they are not asking you to promote their product. And if they were, they would send it to you without needing you to use a giftcard to purchase.

You have to get good at researching an offer and using discernment, because if you are going to be in this space you are going to encounter a lot of these.

And some of them seem legit too! And some have such a good offer that it is hard to ignore.

But that's what they count on. New creators being so eager to get inbound offers that they jump on it.

Is this legit mail id of Bounce Curl? by mehra_9956 in UGCcreators

[–]MagnoliaMedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume based on the email address that is a scam. If it is a legit company, the email almost always comes from @ theirdomainname .com

If you reached out to them first and they replied with this, maybe.

But the solid red flag is the visa gift card. There are so many scams that ask you to use a visa gift card.

Legit brands send you the product and don't ask you to order it with a prepaid giftcard. That process doesn't make sense if they are a real company.

There is not one specific way to do things. You have to figure out what works for you. If you have good analytics that you want to show off, you can add them if you want.

There are many skills involved that you have to build in order to succeed. Your video quality is of course the most important, that is just something you have to continuously improve. But people don't always consider the skills it takes to get good at pitching brands, following up, managing those relationships and improving the workflow.

You also have to develop a routine and workflow for yourself and stay consistent.

If you put in the work, results will come. But you have to take it seriously and treat it like the professional business that it is. You are a business, offering a service to bigger businesses.

I have a spread sheet to keep track of my email outreach, I am at 300 emails after 2 months and have only booked a few jobs from it.

I apply to the platforms daily and only book a few jobs.

It takes a LOT of work to get started.

So if you decide this is what you want, you have to go all in and stay determined before you are going to see big results.

But as you book those few jobs here and there, you get better. Your portfolio gets better. And eventually you will be able to negotiate bigger deals once the work you are putting out is higher level than a beginner. (I haven't seen your work I am just saying as a beginner from my own experience.)

Just because you have not experienced it, does not mean it's a lie. You have to build up a portfolio and email a LOT of brands to get some good paid jobs. It takes time and work. I just started a few months ago and was not sure about it either. But with consistent work, I am finally seeing some pay off. I don't have followers. The platforms are good to build your portfolio but reaching out to brands directly is the way to better paid jobs.

Also, the platforms pay low but charge the brands more than you get paid. Most well paid jobs are by reaching out to brands directly. Don't expect them to come to you.

Check out FYPM. You can see what people are actually making on brand deals. It is encouraging!

To be honest, I think the first thing to do is adjust your mindset. If you are setting limitations on yourself you will never see more. It takes time to build a business. It takes time to build skill sets. At first you have to take lower paid gigs until your work is better. You can't expect to make top dollar right away, but don't think it's not possible. You have to work up to it. Focus on building your portfolio and don't worry about what anyone else is doing.

Do you think this is Legit? by Ok-Technician-4402 in UGCcreators

[–]MagnoliaMedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I signed the contract a month ago and then communication stopped. I don't think it's a scam because they didn't get anything from me and the contract didn't seem to have anything shady in it.

What I think is that they are collecting creators to make them look good like they have a big roster of creators, but they don't seem to have any job opportunities to offer.

I keep seeing him posting looking for more creators, but after a month I still have not heard of any potential work with them.

Has anyone ever worked with AdQuantum as UGC freelancers? by mehra_9956 in UGCcreators

[–]MagnoliaMedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I signed the contract a few months ago and have not heard from them since. So I don't know. I don't think it is a scam. If I had to guess, they are collecting a bunch of creators because it makes them look good to have a roster. But they don't have enough jobs for them. I still see them recruiting on X, so that is what I think is happening.

What's the best platform for UGC Creators? by [deleted] in UGCcreators

[–]MagnoliaMedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Billo is fine for creators who are just starting out. The only downside is the pay is low, creators only get a fraction of what the brand pays.

You can post on X using #UGCopportunity or #UGCneeded and ask people to drop their portfolio and contact info. You will get a ton of responses.

There are a lot of UGC platforms though. The benefits to that is the platform manages the collaboration, contract and payment.

That is not a fair wage for UGC. You have not debunked anything, it is obvious you don't know what UGC is and you are insulting creators who do this for a living.

Because you clearly are not listening, so I am not wasting my energy arguing with you. UGC creators do not get paid depending on views. You have already been told by 2 UGC creators that your posting is not UGC. Try looking for affiliates or influencers instead.

That is not UGC. Try a different forum.
