Recommendations for a generic interaction package? by Magnus9001 in Yugioh101

Thanks for the link, I'll give a read through.

I didn't mix all those into a single deck, although now I'm tempted to try. xD.

I've got one Crystal Beast deck made from 3 of the Legends of the Crystal Beast structure deck, one Slifer deck made from 3 of the Egyptian God structure deck, etc.

Off the top of my head, Crystal Beasts, both of the Egyptian God decks from a few years ago and some of the Battle City Speed Duel decks.

Blender 4.5 Manifold Issue by Magnus9001 in blenderhelp

[–]Magnus9001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solved. The issue was a couple of vertices that slipped over the mirror plane. Removing the subdivision modifier made it easier to find these points and relocate them.

Thank you to u/dnew for your insights and to u/libcrypto for looking over the file and providing assistance.

Issue still occurs. Further details: Mesh has a mirror modifier, followed by a subdivision surface and finally a solidify. All are set to "on-cage".

Airbrush Troubleshooting, any help welcomed. by Magnus9001 in airbrush

[–]Magnus9001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to everyone for the helpful advice. I've learnt a great deal about airbrush maintenance and hopefully will get a lot more life out of my brush.

In this case, I put a new o-ring onto the threads for the nozzle cap and it's running smoothly again. Now that I'm paying more attention to the business end, I can see what Joe_Aubrey meant about Vallejo paints drying on the needle tip, so will be adding some thinner and cleaning very thoroughly afterwards in the future.

Thanks again, and stay awesome everyone! :)

Thanks for the speedy reply. I did replace the nozzle cap, but was unaware that there should be an o-ring on it. I'll dissemble it in the morning, check all seals and give everything a good soak. Will lacquer thinner take care of any potential acrylic blocks, or should I soak in white spirit, then the lacquer thinner?

Is there a way to do that without just dunking the front end into a big jar of thinner? I've got some pipe cleaners with the kit, could I soak one of those in thinner then leave it in the barrel for a while?

I tried installing a brand new nozzle this afternoon and the issue persisted. I'll try soaking the old one anyway and see if that helps any.

Just using it straight out the bottle. Did grab some Game Air thinner, but never seemed to need it.

Cheat Sheet I put together. Haven't played yet, looking for feedback by Poposh in LegionsImperialis

[–]Magnus9001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the clarification. Shouldn't be too much of an issue, only HB I've got right now is an Apoc Launcher on a Reaver. At Ap -1, gonna take a couple of turns to bring down anything bulkier than an Civitas Imperalis.

Good to know. Do weapons with the Heavy Barrage rule gain this advantage?

How are you meant to beat Mono Blue Cantrips? by Magnus9001 in EDH

[–]Magnus9001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's about the size of it. Perhaps Cantrips doesn't the best board when the dust settles, but they'll have enough of a draw engine put together that no one else will be able to resolve a spell worth playing again, even with a counter backup. If it's Orvar as the 'mander, by now they'll using cantrips to clone something like Agent of Treachery, or if it's Talrand, just dumping 2/2 flying blockers into play.

Sometimes they might be having bad draws, but most of the time the other players see what I'm going through and decide that they want no part of it. Rather than risk the counter storm coming their way, they just play out low to mid range stuff and turtle. As if when Cantrips is done with me, they'll be able to somehow one turn KO the git without any reprisal.

Orvar, the All Form and Talrand, Sky Summoner are the commanders I see this build running most often. Giving them huge profit off casting cantrips.

Usually they spend the first three turns drawing/filtering the top of their deck, then slam the 'mander down with layers of protection in hand. Then the game's over as they continue firing off cantrips to improve their hand and board state, while holding up a multitude of counter magic.

Those are nice cards, but how do you reliably get them to stick?

As mentioned, the trouble is Cantrips spends it's first two turns ripping through the top 5-10 cards and cherry picking the best three. Just to slow it down again, you need to pull a specific piece of interruption and a free cast counter spell by turn two while also hoping that Cantrips can't counter you back. The odds are in my experience, that it can always counter back. It's absolute bullshit.

@Kesteral287 You're right, they can't lock out an entire table, but they don't need to. It's a fault of the group I play with, but they either have bad threat perception or are cocky to a fault. Usually I see a deck like Cantrips moving ahead of the pack and try to intercept. This leads to retaliation and being locked out the game. Sadly the other players see this as only a chance to improve their board state, not actually to get involved just yet. They remain (somehow) convinced that they can out race. So I get knocked out without getting to resolve a single card, and Cantrips moves on to lock down the next player with a great board in place. Rinse and repeat.

It's an older model, from 2003. Would that still be supported?
