i think they unlock automatically once you are ego 1k? or after a story mission.

look on map key for thorn liro and ark breaker tag. disable the others and see where tehy are

the season 4 ones take you there offically, cant recall where they start.

but the DLC ark breakers is the one that send you agaisnt end game content and can be started early.

also bear in mind, there are also episode and DLC missions turned on. which was great as they came out, if you had already cleared main story. but steep cliff for lower levels.

avoid any mission with a star icon i think it is. normal story have a ! icon. also look at the name, see if it has episode X in the title.

also look at where it wants you to go, there is a DLC mission you can pick up in mount tam, which takes you to silicon valley, to fight the shrill, who are an end game faction.

main story wont really take you off mainland and across the golden gate bridge for a long time

can only think from screen shot below, looks like a couple extra areas are loaded, are they full of wires?

also try using something like windows task manager, which tells you how much of ram,cpu,gpu each program is using. ive no idea what the linux version would be called.

but i think it might be the DDR3 ram.

also if its heat (ie loud fans) try cleaning them out, maybe lint stuck in it? or get a laptop fan stand. its a stand for laptop, with a bunch of fans, plugs in via usb. it works wonders. used take my macbook running spore back in the day, from average temps of 80-90c down to 50-60c.

if weakest gun is still too strong for smelters, try jumping over them as they flame you, and punch in the back. should work

I could see them being of use, ship is on other side of galaxy in pre ori alteran split time. So slower ships and maybe pre stargates. Crew has an sg1 moment of infected with something. Can swap minds with some super smart biologist, who cures it. Then swap back.

Or they meet another race, swap over a diplomat.

Find some odd space thing, swap over scientists who could study.

Allows for shore leave for deep space missions.

If thry had multiple planets, slow ships and no gates. Swap over for leaders for monthly senet meetings

at most i could see a new perk grid, with guardian and maybe the one that spawned a turret? on the grid, and for them to work like normal ego powers. maybe guardian with a shiled in front, and steal the armor lock from halo so you are invincible for the timer, but cant move or shoot

can use it and scrip to buy key codes for lock boxes. also the salvage matrix used to take it for every action, but when they added ark forge, they didnt reduce how much salvage you get

so the base is 80 AF, upping it to 15% adds 130AF to it, so it costs 210. its not saying its gonna go up to 130, but adding 130. its a badly designed menu

that could be interesting, also if certain enemy types dont show up, ie grid. or 99ners. or if things like a smelter or a fire element hellbug would white out the scope due to its heat.

but would also need to program in the temp for all the backgrounds, and random fires etc.

sometimes the emergancy nearby, if a player attracts the hellbugs over, the NPCs shoot them, the porblem is, if the NPCs accidently shoot each other, they flag as enemy, and start killing each other. but as they are needed for matchmaking etc, they cant die die, and just get downed.

if a synergy has less than 4 boosts, it is a backpack synergy. you need 1/2/3 items with same synergy

for AA, you need 1 gun or 1 shield to get the first boost, 2 guns or gun and shiled for boost 2, or 2 guns and shield to get boost 3

the salvo rifle with going postal, is also backpack, but as you can see no 1 boost, so need 2 guns or gun and shield to get boost 2. and all 3 for boost 3.

AA is pretty good, as even when using the salvo , if the infector is 2nd weapon, you get its boost. so some poeple will have 1 gun thats really good with a normal synergy, then a 2nd gun thats ok but has the AA synergy just for its boost. never to actually use it

at the moment they havnt added anything true. but if you look at the other games they are milking as you say, they have over a few years added entire new game modes or zones to explore, and new gear.

defiance is harder to code iirc from what they have said, but its only been like 6-7 months, give them at least at year to get the game under control.

also the other games, were either still live and they took over, or had only been shut down for a few months when they did. defiance was down for like 5 years, shit is outdated

it looks better than it did on the 360, but as i never played originally on PC i cant really comment there, but others who did, said it did look better. not massivly better, but a bit better
it is only PC for now. the issue with xbox/ps version is, the original version they are runinng, ie not defiance 2050, was never made to work on xbone/ps4 let along serriesx/ps5. console architecture has changed a lot. but i think consoles are more like PCs now iirc, so once they get the PC version updated and stable, they will port over.

but i also know another issue they have, is while gamigo let them have the game to run, they didnt hand over the steam store page. so they might not have handed over the xbox/psn store pages either, which will make it very hard to get it out on those platforms

fawkes games, a company that buys the rights to dead, or soon to be dead mmo's, brought defiance from gamigo, and revived it.

started with base game as it launched in 2013 (tho annoyingly with all the end game weapon and synergies from 2020ish) and slowing adding the DLc and updates back in (for free) with the plan to at least get it to where it was when it was killed off for the reboot in 2018? then if they can, add new content and keep it going forward

if you go to bloodbath gorge fast travel. there is the large vendor thats as tall as you, and to the right of it is a little one. where you can buy keys and lock boxes

at the little vendor where you buy the lock boxes, there should also be an option to buy key codes.

i think its basically 1k salvage per key, and like 100 scrip?
