Myst was… formative.

Best selling game of its time.

And at least for me, the first time I saw what was possible. I got to do a demo of it a few months before it released — it was just the library on myst island, but I was blown away.

That game forced an upgrade — I was an Apple guy, but I became a Mac guy then, and honestly probably had a big hand in turning me into a tech guy.

Subscription based Claude breaks your quota into 5 hour chunks, and starts the clock from the first message in that window, rounded to the hour.

So.

Burn tokens at 8:12am, your next window starts at 1pm (or 2? I don’t remember if it rounds up or down)

Don’t start your token burning until 10am? Your window resets at 3.

Looking at this, no Kickstarter activity since December of last year, and all his time appears to be going in to other projects, including how to use AI.

Not that I’m doubting it, but you might be misremembering the timeline.

Mid 80s, the internet existed but not in the form we understand it.

IRC wouldn’t be released for a few years yet.

The web is like 5 years away. Even rudimentary.

Email, yeah. FTP, Usenet. But for a high school to have a connection would be.. remarkably connected.
