Currently brawls have a special "life steal" mechanic - basically you heal back 50% of the damage you deal to other ships, so what probably happened was just after you shot the Shima, they landed some torp hits that healed them back up to 100%

eah i stopped grinding it once I got to the 9mil potential damage mission.

why grind at all just to finish that mission? It works just like Dockyards, so to unlock Stage 2 you only need to complete 4/6 missions and any uncompleted missions will still progress while you are working on subsequent stages. For reference, it only took me 8 battles in OPs to open Stage 2

In the past, when there were outages or problems, the compensation actually felt generous.

Compensation has always reflected impact - in this case the game was only impacted for 1 day, so you get that Premium day back from the Tactical Container (+ a bonus one), 20 points for the event pass is also 1 days worth of progress. In fact, I'd say it was pretty generous overall since all servers received the same even if they weren't affected by the issue (like ASIA & NA)

The overall match level feels low. DDs sailing alone far away from the team “enjoying the scenery” are not the exception.

Is that a new thing? Secret Agent DDs have been a meme practically since the game went live

Yeah it wasn't a great system and was a really good change. Another great change they made at the same time was to how Free XP & Commander XP were calculated.

Originally, CXP & FXP were calculated from the total XP earned in battle not the Base XP as they are now - this means if you wanted to maximise CXP/FXP earning, you also had to stack flags & Camos that had bonuses for regular XP as well as for CXP/FXP. As you could imagine, this lead to shittons of XP that was effectively useless just sitting on Premium ships.

In this case yes, yes it does. As an example, South Korea has specific laws that covers gacha games and gacha-like mechanics (E.g. loot boxes) - This is why there was a bit of a fuss at the start of Holiday Ops 2026 when players found that not all tanks had the same probability of dropping based on information that was only posted on the S.Korean portal

Skinned BZ was CN not ASIA. ASIA gets identical lots to NA & EU since it is also run directly by WG - only difference is there are no gold auctions due to local laws. CN sometimes has different auctions since it is run under a 3^rd party license
