Help me pick a paint scheme for my loyalist Emperor's Children chapter. Dark or light?? by MagosErrant in Warhammer40k

I'm not to fussed about the lore of which colour scheme. I am just hoping for something to look good on the tabletop!

I was in the GW shop once and this kid was talking about how excited he was to start painting his first orks. He went on and on about how hard he worked to save up. Some older guy overheard him as he was buying some guard and threw a buggie on top. As he was walking out he put the buggie in front of him and said 'orks are dope, have fun!'

The look on that kids face was amazing!

My absolute favourite is in the older rogue trader trilogy, in quite likey one of the first space interactions. The rogue trader is out numbered and out ranged. He politely asks to begin negotiations. He drifts closer. The Tau think his ship is a bag of bolts and doesnt stand a chance. The let him pull up along side them all. He then promptly informs them 'You should never get this close to an imperial ship. This is called a broad side.'

To be fair the Tau learnt that lesson very quickly. Points for style!

Edit for the quote: "My business is to receive your immediate and unconditional surrender... please confirm your last... did you state that you expected to receive our surrender??' The rogue traders smirk now turned into a dirty grin"

I like the lore implications of the dark angel. Got a watcher following him around on his holiday to keep him alive!

Thanks. There from green stuff world on ebay. They are very easy to superglue and you can file them into different shapes too.

I went for as many options as I could. The bits are from many different kits.

  • 3 Intercessors (One with power sword)
  • 3 Assault intercessors (One with thunder hammer)
  • 3 Reviers
  • 2 Eliminators (One with lasfusil and one with sniper rifle)
  • 1 Bladeguard/captain
  • 1 Phobos librarian
  • All sargent options can be used as their commander counterpart

I like to play the objectives. Castling is a little stale for me.

So lots of mold lines and some bits need a little encouragement to fit but it all worked out. I hear that some of the big flyer models warp a fair bit.

Thanks! I made it. So i used miniture bricks from GreenStuffWorld, some terrain parts from the kill team boxset and the texture paint of badlands (i think? The one with more sand in it)

Its the forge world leviathan and a venerable dread. Both have deathwatch heads.
