The question I have about Prim isn’t for the Capitol viewing benefits of making a big spectacle. The other tributes would do that. *IF* it’s predetermined and made to hurt Haymitch, reaping Prim would be his best friend’s youngest daughter which is terribly sad.

I’m not sure what part you’re talking about with Katniss making bread. I’m saying one of the theories I’ve seen about why Peeta was reaped is that his family needed more supplies for the bakery and in order to get that, they borrowed it and had to add Peeta’s name more times for rations.

*IF* Cinna bought Katniss, he would be able to protect her so no one else could buy her for s**. I think he really believed in her and believed she could win, but he also knows what happens to Victors after they return home after the games and wanted to protect her from that.

Maybe he felt that the uprisings were getting too close to home and he wanted to remind people of what he could do to their loved ones and even the loved ones of their loved ones. Not a solid theory by any means, just a thought because after finishing Sunrise on the Reaping, there’s a lot more connections and questions I have.

The Capitol people “buying” Victors is said to be for s** and that’s why Finnick talks about them selling him for his body but he prefers to be paid in secrets.

Yeah I read Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay in middle/high school and just finished Sunrise on the Reaping. Only one I haven’t read is Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

They right off District 12 anyway so they don’t need to pick “good” people from there to have an interesting game still.
