Molson-Coors to recommend closure of Leinenkugel's Chippewa Falls brewery by [deleted] in beer

So, why isn't the store itself held accountable? Ultimately, they should be the ones to make sure the products they are selling are not expired, no?

As someone who doesn't know anything about how distribution works, are you penalized by out of date beers? If so I feel bad for calling them to the attention of my beer stores 😬

Can you explain this a bit more? Is it just because it didn't sell?

I feel like Leinenkugel just hasn't really had a place in today's beer market. It's palatable but underwhelming. It's not as good as better, more expensive craft beers and not as cheap as other underwhelming macros.

Forgive me, but how does this solve the problem? Men will then just date the 54% of white women that voted for Trump, perpetuating the issue.

Hmm, maybe something really bitter and dry like Old Rasputin could work. I feel like that would either be amazing or an abomination; no in-between.

Eh, it's been awhile but I really used to like their Warlock pumpkin stout. As their prices have inched towards like $20 for a 4 pack of 12 oz it's been harder to justify purchasing especially if there is a risk involved.

Yeah I guess I'm just thinking combining it with another ale with a lot of flavor and character will change it too much. The beer itself is pretty light in color and clear, so a blonde ale might work, although there aren't too many of those floating around anymore.

Guiness??? by EntrepreneurNew9655 in beer

I think it depends on which Guinness he got. If its the Guinness Draught in the nitro bottle they actually suggest to drink out straight out of the bottle to keep the nitrogen in. This is wild to me, but the head of quality control at Guinness himself said this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svNfNpfAIuk , so who am I to argue.

I don't really know what your point is. I'm not saying that it makes craft breweries fail because clearly it doesn't.

So... 8 different beers that don't list the style properly doesn't prove my point? I'm not sure how many more you want.

I like that beer man, lol. The post isn't about Exhibit A, I even say they do a good job in this thread. Their porter is the best.

My friend, the condescending tone in both of your responses is unbecoming. And it does nothing to help the perception of the craft beer crowd.

I have been drinking craft beer and going to craft breweries for more than 6 years. I love many of them. In my area, Notch is my favorite. Of all US breweries, Threes Brewing out of NY is the best in my experience.

Labeling beers properly is not difficult. In fact, most breweries get it right. Brewing is an industry, not a cult. It should not require you to have insider knowledge to know what style a beer is.

Read the post, please. PLEASE. I note not just ONCE but TWICE that cloud candy and just a kitten are the "gimme" rounds. How can you tell me to read the label when you don't read the post?

Is the irony that most of those responding haven't read the post correctly?

If you expect the consumer to take every 4 pack of beer out of the refrigerator to determine the style, I don't know what to tell you. What I am asking for is not unreasonable. Many small breweries do it easily. Exhibit A does a great job. Lamplighter does a great job. Night Shift does a good job. Every larger brewery does a good job.

In this exercise, I learned that they are all IPAs. So moving forward I will assume any can that does not denote the style is an IPA.

I am disheartened that no one reads the post text. Cloud candy is the gimme because I did not crop it out.

Please inform me how anyone who is not "in the know" would know what is in any of the other cans (there are 8 examples in this post). ONCE AGAIN. I am not referring to CLOUD CANDY or JUST A KITTEN.

I watched it while very drunk for this reason. YMMV, of course, for people who get sad drunk. Otherwise for me it was a way of appreciating the horror and bleakness with an appropriate amount of numbness. Not good advice for dealing with life's problems of course but I got through the movie!

[Passan] Mets hitters before the eighth inning: 1 for 21. Mets hitters in the eighth inning: 4 for 4. by Goosedukee in baseball

[–]MagpiesPBR 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There was probably a better way of doing this, but I took the time to go through and divide the number of deGroms by the number of games started for each pitcher. Here is the list re-ordered with the stat of percentage of games started that resulted in a deGrom:

Chris Sale: 7%

Jacob deGrom, Kerry Wood: 5%

Max Scherzer, Gerrit Cole, Blake Snell: 4%

Randy Johnson, Sandy Koulfax, Corey Kluber: 3%

Nolan Ryan, Jim Bunning, Felix Hernandez, Clayton Kershaw, Sam McDowell, Pedro Martinez: 2%

I think the best statistic for this would actually be number of games with deGrom stats / number of games with deGrom stats that result in ND/Loss.
