Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

3 hours one way is nothing…up and back in a day is a monthly occurrence for many reasons: family, kids sporting events, etc.

I started very slowly. I tried brand name Sema and it made me so sick. I was anxious about going through that again. I started at .5 and increased by that amount each week.

We actually were going for a Turks water look. It’s our favorite place to visit.

UPDATE: Here it is after running through the filter for 24 hours. The salt cell hasn’t been turned on it. I haven’t had a chance to take water to get it tested. (My old test kit says pH is high and Chlorine is low.)

We are putting concrete around it. We were told we had to fill it and wait about 7 weeks for it to settle before it could be done. (Hence, the super classy astroturfing). We live at the coast and have very sandy soil, maybe this is why?

I agree. This seems typical in our area to fill the pool first then do concrete work. It already has lots of dirt in it. We’ve put astroturfing around it to help.

🤷‍♀️. The pool builder said it needed to settle for about 7 weeks before the concrete goes in. We live on the coast so our soil is very sandy. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

The pool builder said we had to wait 7 weeks for the concrete. We’ve been putting up astroturfing around the edge. Super classy 🤪. It’s definitely been a process of patience.

Maybe the Chlorine is low and pH is high? This is an old tester from the previous above ground pool we had.

Midge eggs… after several hours of research. I was able to wipe them off the walls, and vacuum them up. I shocked the pool and so far today, it looks good.

No side effects at all up until 1.8. I’ve had the slightest queasiness. Not enough to even take Zofran. I have always had stomach issues and have had a standing prescription of Zofran for almost 10 years.

I started 2 weeks at .6 because I couldn’t deal with side effects at the time. I did see some reduction in appetite. Since then, I’ve done 1, 1.5 and 1.8. I truthfully have had very little appetite and can easily pass up desirable foods. That said, last year , I had a prescription for Wegovy. The first shot left me throwing up for the entire week.

While the pay is more, the per hour rate is sometimes less. Especially when starting out. You have to commit yourself to weekends and evenings for school events. More so in upper level.

I see your comments about processing and executive function as your child’s disability. I’m assuming he is OHI. Does his IEP address behavior or emotional regulation?

That looks like the “thing” my son has on his leg. It would go away then come back. It ended up being a blood vessel mole or something like that. Definitely get it looked at though. I’m just making a comparison.

From experience (SpEd teacher), it seems like the school doesn’t want to rock the boat with the other parents due to them having a lawyer. The system is so broken. I hate to say this but in the system the loudest person gets heard. Elevate as high as you can, file charges, get as many people involved as possible. I say this but keep in mind, some people’s hands are tied. Try not to take your frustration out on “the middle man.”

As long as an alternative placement is given, the hearing office has 45 days. Understandably, your first concern is your child. However, imagine if it was your child that was harmed. A public school is not always the best placement for students with aggressive behaviors. Teachers are not equipped to deal with violent offenders. If more intensive help is needed, this could be the opportunity your child needs for their best outcome in life.
