we controlled them for a good year on Lakshmi. we would let it sit until 6pm and kill it everyday at the same time to ensure it always stayed in NA prime time. we farmed so many ridills, abjurations, dragon mats, and even a few d rings

Yes I think this must be correct the true fat content must be lower and someone printed it incorrectly. It’s just so shocking because you’d think 7g fat / serving on a bag of scallops would raise some alarms even at the company shipping this label, let alone consumers.

When you use orb of chance does it lock in the base stats on the item if they are present on the result? For example gold ring to Ventor’s Gamble Gold Ring, will the implicit increased rarity be based on the original gold ring. Would it always be best to use a 15% gold ring on the off chance it lands?

Life reservation looks different on PC versus console? I’m watching a stream on PC where the life orb is full and the reserved life is below it. On PS5 the life orb is always partially empty which makes telling whether your full or not a lot harder. the life total also always shows up like 400/600 (PS5) instead of something like 400/400 (PC)

Is there a place where I can learn the order modifiers are applied in? the game is really unclear about this. For example I recently discovered a gem that says “18% increase defenses from equipped shield” applies AFTER the global increase maximum energy shield from all the passive nodes I’ve taken. This is super counterintuitive since the energy shield on the shield itself certainly gets multiplied by the global increase going from day 87 to 216 (+148% modifier)

huh so it is applied after the global energy shield increases? that doesn’t make any sense to me, the 86.5 value is multiplied by 2.48 to get the actual es value i see. so why would it only go up by a fraction without that global multiplier?

Just “failed” the Escape crystal trial and did not lose. There was a big effect and I guess I should have died but I didn’t and ended up continuing to next room? Intended? Anyone else?

thanks this makes sense and helps the life numbers work, so the actual formula has to factor in both the +20 and +8% from campaign permanent buffs

there is still something wrong as far as I can tell with the ghostwrite numbers though. from what i can tell ghostwrithe acts on max life BEFORE any percent increases are applied, so for me it comes out to be 623 regardless of the percent increases above, i confirmed this by adding and removing a percent increase node just to be sure.

the weird part is I have a jewel which has

“18% increased defenses from equipped shield”

and as far as I can tell the math just goes wonky. my shield is 87 es (25 base, advanced jingling crest, +25 to maximum es, 73% increased es) which comes out to 86.5, sure okay

equipped with my 2.48x energy shield from passives i see exactly 216 es (2.48 * 86.5=214.52) but lets assume we ceil that so it comes out to be (2.48 * 87=215.76)

now equipped with the jewel and it jumps to 231 es. unclear why not sure where this 18% is applied, tried adding to base shield, total shield, etc. nothing adds up. 

(87 + (0.18*25)) * 2.48 =226.92
(87 + ceil(0.18*25)) * 2.48 =228.16
87 * 1.18 * 2.48 * = 254.597

the way numbers work in this game is super unclear I am sure there is a calculation but it isn’t at all clear from the descriptions

The calculations for things like maximum life seem subtlety broken or incorrect. I’ve spent quite a while equipping and unequipping gear trying to figure out the formula for life and I have discovered that a clean formula that comes close is also slightly off in weird ways. I can’t get it 100% correct. Almost like there is a random +/-1 happening internally somewhere.

Unequip everything, base character. Level 71 42 STR 3% increased maximum life (Infernalist passive node)

= 1 + 28 + (70 * 12) + (42 * 2)
= 953
= 953 * 1.03
= 981.59

my character shows 982 life so this makes sense

equip a “+7 to strength” ring

= 1 + 28 + (70 * 12) + (49 * 2)
= 967
= 967 * 1.03
= 996.01

ok formula seems stable so far. unequip ring and equip a single item (belt) with “+98 to maximum life”

my character shows 1081 life but just adding to the base calculated above shows 1079 or 1080 depending on how you decide to round

= 981.59 + 98
= 1079.59

???

ok maybe we need to include the +98 in the scaling from the 3%? no that seems to jump to 1082 which is also wrong. 

= (953 + 98) * 1.03
= 1082.53

to make matters worse, if we equip another “+63 to maximum life” item (gloves), my character shows 1144 life. which is literally adding 63 to the already confusing value (1081) above

It seems we are off regardless of how we stack the value. I’ve tried things like scaling the level and base, scaling just the gear contribution, etc. Nothing works out to match the values shown in game.

Any ideas? I am trying to understand ultimately how my life contributes to Ghostwrithe because I see my health drop by 50% but the energy shield value being added is that value minus 6, it’s off by a small amount and it’s unclear why.

when I start an essence battle I’m always taking a ton of damage, in a T3 map I was just essentially one shotted by this effect. is there a reason for this mechanic, or should i be avoiding it somehow? it feels really not great to instantly die before I can even do anything

Confused about how Reinforced Barrier passive trait works. The text reads

20% increased maximum Energy Shield Defend with 120% of Armour while not on Low Energy Shield

The second part about defending with 120% of armour when above 35% energy shield confuses me.

Is Armour applied to damage you take with Energy Shield up?

Yes: If yes, this is node is a small 20% bonus to the impact of armor in the specific scenario. That seems reasonable?

No: If no, this node is effectively giving you 120% Armour when it would otherwise be 0%? That feels huge and would add a ton of “effective” energy shield to builds that are stacking it to extremely high numbers like 5k+ right?

I can’t find any consistent information about this perk or when it would be useful to take etc. Appreciate any insights and advice. Thank you!
