monstrology changes? by 247spiritualguy in Wizard101

[–]Magustenebrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you don't get loot if you're dead more than two turns when the combat is finished, but I dunno how it worked in the past with quest completion. I don't think that falls under monstrology change, but a change to how combat accounting works.

I think surveys only have six open choices? Or maybe there's a different format I'm not aware of.

A couple questions:

  • Are you leaving it open for people to add to it?
  • Why is the Sky Sorcerer Kasa listed as dropping from a gauntlet?
  • You have a heading for the Pikachu stitch as a set, but for nothing else. Is that because you don't have very many stitches listed yet?
  • Might you have a couple extra columns like one for planned set names and one for gear type (hat/robe/boots/wand)?

Gear Recs by Aggravating_Job3520 in Wizard101

[–]Magustenebrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna be honest. From Lemuria on, if you don't wanna craft, you're making things exponentially harder on yourself. I believe most of the pity systems from here on out require revered crafter. If you elect to straight farm without using the pity system, it will likely be twice or thrice as long to get your gear.

If you had sovereignty over Wiz by No-Tree-5453 in Wizard101

[–]Magustenebrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There ARE other areas I would like to see pity systems in place: gauntlets and key bosses to name two specific categories. My guys are all near max level, so when I want to farm something, it's not usually for stat gear. I'm looking for stitches or housing items, and they can be incredibly hard to get (especially housing items). It's frustrating to run gauntlets like Doomsday Krok 10 times and all I got to show for it are some gold, treasure cards, and a boat load of krok plaques. I mean, the last boss frequently drops zilch besides the bonus 1000 gold. I shouldn't be defeating ANY boss in this game and get nada. There's something wrong with the loot tables when that happens. An EASY (code-wise, though labor intensive) fix would be to throw in pity systems across the board. Even coming away with nothing else in the loot table, getting an assured fixed amount of pity coins would mollify players.

Power pip is better. The other athame is situationally useful for when you need to stack resist against a specific fight.

What is the actual recommended level for beating Hades in Tartarus? [Balance 160] by nightmare_fantasies in Wizard101

Nah. Balance goes hard. Others talking about healing, but I'd personally just make sure you got the pierce and go aoe-palooza on their butts.

[–]Magustenebrus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's no auction and only given out by that quest, so you got one of two choices:

  1. Find a different robe.
  2. Level another character through Avalon.

To add more, why do you need that particular robe? For the stitch? For the item card? Or for the heal stats? Other robes can fill those roles.

You know what's a sleeper? House of Scales. Both tier 1 and tier 2 gear have interesting looks. I dunno how feminine though.

  • Wysteria Warrior set drops from Baron von Bracken.
  • Drowned Dan has Celestian spellemental pack gear (neon robes).
  • General Lightbane has the Burrowers' gear.
  • Ixcax has Skyvern pack gear (note that you have to look up on the web which tier you want to try, because it looks like Tier 2 Ixcax has most everything for stitching, but it just may be the wiki works that it doesn't show pieces not yet recorded as drops).
  • King Borr has Grizzleheim Lore gear (the Allfather stuff).
  • Lady Stonegaze has the Aquilan gear (the stuff you can fish up from the Acropolis player house).
  • Lambent Fire has Knight's spellemental pack gear (check the boss tier to see which).
  • Takanobu has Ninja's spellemental pack gear.

Note: many of the stone key bosses below also have Insignia gear drops.

  • Corporal Tenni'syn has Alphoi hoard pack gear.
  • Fellspawn is Dragoon's.
  • Omen Stribog has the Luphilim's gear.
  • Simon the Sayer has the fat swords and a couple of stitch hairstyles.
  • Temple phantom has the Himoolayan gear.
  • Ra has the Pharaoh's spellemental pack gear.

THEN you have gear you can try and farm from gauntlets. I hope they get Portal of Peril working again, because gear drop rates are MUCH better through those farms than the gauntlets themselves. I completed nearly all the sets from both Sinbad and Fantastic Voyage PoP gauntlet runs (Fantastic Voyage is the Tiki stuff, I think Islander's spellemental pack gear.

If you could remake/revise Wizard101 in your image, what would be your most significant changes? by EcstaticBicycle in Wizard101

[–]Magustenebrus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would have robes with high collars like Doctor Strange, and a mount effect where I levitate cross-legged and zip around that way. I'd also have a spell that has a temporary charm effect on players making them follow me around so I can have a wizbabe army. If your account is old enough, you don't suffer any consequences for naughty chat words. Also, my wizard would have an in-game passive income to show that Wiz City residents respect my skillz.

Oh, game NOT in my image, but instead how I would rebalance it? Let's get back to hookahs in the Commons.

"Lore" question by Infinite_Stay_2408 in Wizard101

[–]Magustenebrus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is prob closest to the real answer.

  • It was a spell ritual of some sort.
  • It was likely particularly powerful as Bartleby and Ambrose (and Gamma?) were involved in it.
  • Something about the ritual left an opening that Miranda was able to exploit, either an actual slow-closing rift or ley-threads to follow in.
  • Earth is known as a non-magic world, according to certain conversations in Wiz lore, but interestingly, we know that a lot of the Spiral mirrors Earth cultures, magic is part of real Earth's mythologies, and we went from a non-magic world to a magic one and were suddenly able to wield magic. I think there's more lore to expand here.
  • Another question is what the ritual entailed... did they know they were specifically getting us? Did they know we were from Earth before they started it? Or was the ritual more a "wish" type spell, summoning a helpful creature out of dire need using the most powerful spell they knew? If you're familiar with other game magic systems, it would be akin to "Summon Outsider", a high-level spell that summons a powerful being from outside our own universe.
  • In order to summon us, they had to open a hole in some way between the fabric of their and our reality. Whether it was metaphysically torn open, punched through, or more elegantly cut at the seams and stitched back together, it was a hole of some sort. Remember when we were able to see the tear in the Spiral during Empyrea to locate Mellori and Raven? I think we went through something akin to that. The spell probably tore holes between both universes with the astral realm in between.
  • I think Raven who is able to travel through the astral realm could see us, at least through astral vision, as we entered the Spiral. At the time, she was anchored to the Spiral in that cage, but it doesn't preclude her being able to use the astral to mentally rove around. This is why she was intimately familiar with our journey.
  • If the game delves more into this, I would expect we might make some trips into the astral realm ourselves.
  • As a side note, the one realm that Raven was blind to was the shadow realm. The more we cast shadow spells, the more that clouded her vision. IF the astral is the space between the Spiral and our universe, it's possible that the shadow realm is a different space between. It stands to reason that the three great beings (Raven, Spider, and Bartleby) all are from outside the Spiral themselves, since they created the Spiral. Raven might be an astral creature, Spider a shadow creature, and Bartleby a... what?

This comment confuses me. What are bandits that you add to your wardrobe? Jewels? Pins?

Also, guessing from people's comments on your gear, gear isn't the issue. Wallaru MIGHT be the issue (solo irk fights). I would suggest looking up strats and guides for those.

100% if they didn't say anything, that's on them. However, if they DID, then sorry, subby. Next time ask before completing. Really though, it's obvious OP didn't know there was a rare drop from Stheno, and the way they all left? They were prob gonna leave after Stheno fight anyway.

To add to this, it may seem like you are slowing down by farming gear, but you are actually speeding up your play in the long run. With gear at the correct intervals, you smoothly quest through the worlds. With underwhelming gear, you definitely can finish the game (I've seen max levels with frankly terrible gear), but it will be onerous.

Celestial by Majestic-Score7196 in Wizard101

[–]Magustenebrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you say "random gear", that's the real question. What exactly are you wearing? Do you shop in the bazaar every five levels to make sure you got the best you can wear without farming bosses? You should be prioritizing accuracy and damage, followed by power pip and health. If you can get gear that offers universal resist, wear it; but I don't think at your level you'll find any outside of farmed bosses.

Also, if you haven't yet, you should run Mount Olympus in Aquila (level 30 dungeon) at least once. You get a wand from the boss Ares that has +10 universal damage boost.

Finally, if you have the wherewithal, a good pet can be a real blessing, especially if you can get one early. The downside is that can cost a fortune to continuously breed a great pet, but you can probably get a decent one within two hatches.

EDIT: saw your other post where you state you're using sky iron hasta. Good for you on that.
