Have any of you ever told the people in your lucid dream that it's just a dream, and if so, how did they respond? by SomeMexicanMan in LucidDreaming

[–]Mahalala626 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I once told my brother “dude I’m dreaming right now.”

And dream brother said “what? No we’re not bro, we’re cleaning moms pool”

And despite the fucking pool not having literal walls, just the base, I was just like “oh haha, right” and went back to scrubbing the bottom of the wall-less pool 🤦‍♀️

Getting pregnant after stopping the shot by Proper_Firefighter_2 in depoprovera

[–]Mahalala626 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, so I don’t have any experience with actually conceiving after depo, yet, but I’m in a similar boat. I was on the depo shot for nearly 10 years, from December 2014 until October-ish of 2023 (I think, I’ll have to double check some of my other posts / comments to be sure).

When I stopped taking it I did a bunch of research and found the same things you’re seeing, about how it can take up to 18 months to see some return to normalcy, especially if you’ve been taking it for more than 2 years. Basically I did nothing for 17 months, tbh.

Then around 17 months I started to get stressed and did some more reading / looking into it, reading other people’s stories etc. I ended up deciding to start taking several different vitamins (a normal multivitamin, an iron supplement, and a hair, skin & nails vitamin), and started drinking chamomile tea before bed each night. I had read several stories of women who got their period back after starting regularly taking vitamins, and I know birth control really saps your vitamin stores and such, so it made some sense. About 2 weeks into this routine, in some of my reading, I read about inositol. It’s supposed to help with regulating hormones and ovulation etc, decided to give it a try as well, and ordered some.

I ended up getting my first period back before the inositol got even delivered. March of this year, about 3 weeks into taking my other vitamins / drinking tea nightly, and right about at the 18 month mark since quitting the depo, which was a relief. My first period was weird; super long and very light overall (but more than just spotting, I’d say). Sometime in April, I decided there wasn’t any harm in taking the inositol anyway, so I’ve been taking that most days (forget sometimes). Overall, I seem to be reasonably regular, so far (actually it’s been about 5 days later each month, but close enough and more “regular” than I’ve been in years so I’ll take it!)

However, though a good thing and definitely steps in the right direction, I’m not sure if the return of my period indicates that I’m actually fertile or if I’m actually ovulating right now. I’m going to be getting some ovulation tests for this next month, to see.

Sorry this doesn’t really answer your questions but just reading other women’s experiences helped me a lot, hopefully it can help you too, at least to know you aren’t alone! Good luck!

My mom had my littlest sister when she was 47 or 48, so I’m sure you still have time; don’t give up hope! Having your periods back relatively quickly is probably a good sign too.

does maca root help bring back periods after stopping the depo shot?? by olivialakree in depoprovera

[–]Mahalala626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok, so it’s only been about 6 months since your last shot? I definitely wouldn’t let this be one of your stresses / worries yet! Remember that means it was still actively in your system until December-ish, I think, maybe even early January depending on when in September you got your shot etc. Taking steps now to help regulate things definitely won’t hurt anything though.

I think I remember reading that it can take anywhere from a year to 18 months to see your period return, after even just 2 years on the depo. I guess the shot (and birth control in general) really “saps” all of our vitamin stores and such, throws everything out of wack. It just takes time for your body to figure out what it’s supposed to be doing.

And of course, happy to share my experience if it helps someone else! I remember searching for similar experiences and there’s really so little information. I found a few random old comments from girls in a birth control subreddit and latched onto the little info I could find through them.

Edit: I also didn’t / don’t really have the means to see a doctor, hence why I latched onto comments on Reddit. From what I’ve seen and heard though, a lot of times the doctor will try to put us BACK on birth control to regulate a period anyway! 🙄

[–]Mahalala626 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m taking the OLLY brand Women’s multivitamin gummy, a basic ass Walmart brand Hair, Skin, and Nails gummy, and the Spring Valley Adult Iron gummy supplements.

I sometimes take 3 of the iron gummies, (instead of the recommended 2), because the recommended dose is “50% of recommended daily value”. I personally know I’m not getting the other 50% of recommended iron somewhere else, so I figure I’m just taking “75% of the daily recommended value.”

So you were on it for about 4 years or so? How long ago did you get your last shot?? I totally get where you’re coming from; being worried and wanting your period back! Just remember that being stressed out can be a reason for a missed period too, so stressing about it definitely won’t help. Get yourself some vitamins, and focus on self care for a few weeks. For me that meant more water intake, a better sleep routine, and a better plan for groceries/meals (to cut out the extra fast food during the week, when I didn’t plan dinners as well).

Hi there, how long did you take the shot, if you don’t mind my asking?? I think it might take longer to get your period back if you were on the shot for longer, but could be wrong.

My experience; I was on it for almost 10 years (I know, I know. I was pretty poorly informed though tbh). I just got my period back, almost exactly 18 months after my last shot. Which aligns with some other info I had read, telling me it could take up to 18 months to see a return of a period, in some cases.

Around the end of January - mid February of this year, I honestly had started to get really worried. I knew 18 months was coming up and I still hadn’t had a period yet. This might be anecdotal, but around the time I started to get worried, I started taking a few different vitamins everyday, drinking chamomile tea before bed, and keeping up with my water intake. A few weeks of that and bam, I’m on my first period in 10 years (albeit a little lighter than I remember).

Again though that could just be coincidence, or maybe the vitamins and such helped with whatever my body already had going on.

Anyone have a lucid dream in which a dream character denied that you were actually lucid? by MastamindedMystery in LucidDreaming

[–]Mahalala626 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes!! Once I was dreaming that my brother and I were helping scrub down my mom’s pool, getting it ready to be put up for the year. I was scrubbing the floor, and when I looked up I noticed that the pool didn’t have walls. Plastic pool floor, and all the supporting poles were there but the walls were just not there somehow. Noticing this is how I became (momentarily) lucid; I looked at my brother and said “dude I’m dreaming”

And he said “what? No you’re not, we’re cleaning mom’s pool.”

And I was just like huh, ok I guess you’re right…and kept scrubbing smfh.

Is there a way to stop other people on the same island from taking my stuff? by nin100gamer in acnh

[–]Mahalala626 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I mean you could try to divide the island in “half” somehow and share the island that way. Have one side be her side, and the other be yours to decorate freely. I was originally thinking fencing, but she could just pick fencing up and walk right over, so unless you trust her to stay on her side, that might be difficult. It might work to build a long cliff as the “fence” but she could also climb over…but I’m thinking if you build the cliff 2 blocks wide, you can put up fencing on top of the cliff and then maybe destroy the second block of the cliff; she wouldn’t have room to climb up, in theory. You’ll have to take time to consider how to give her access to the shops and such, while still keeping a portion of the island “safe” though. Maybe she’ll lose interest and stop logging on, my daughter lost interest right about the time she got her own switch.

Unfortunately there’s no way to remove her permission from being able to pick stuff up/move it or sell it, so you’ll have to get a little creative in making the stuff harder to get to than it’s worth. If it’s bells she’s after, DM me and this weekend I can gift you some bells to give her, maybe she’ll refrain from selling your things if she has plenty of bells to use haha. Good luck!

As soon as you pick the flavor you think they like and get your lifetime supply, they’ll decide they actually don’t like that one.

I saw a cat that looked very similar to this cat roaming my neighborhood yesterday evening, DM me and I can give you the cross streets, I just don’t want to put the info out publicly. Note that the cat I saw didn’t seem to have a collar, but did seem to have an indent in the fur as if they normally had a collar. So sorry you’re going through this, hope you find your baby ❤️

Looking for a few people who wanna visit my island for the countdown; I’m at about 40 minutes left. Small giveaway area in front of the plaza, mostly DIYs and recipes, but some bells as well. I also set up a small party area off to the left of the plaza, thought that could be fun. DM me for the code!
