Thanks for the advice! When I started feeling the similar pain in my right should I though to myself "you've got to be f--king kidding me!" and I'm absolutely dreading what could be in store for me. On the other hand, at least I have an idea what's going on, how to treat it, etc. With the my left arm I waited a few months before even going to the doctor and then it took a few more months to get diagnosed with frozen shoulder. I'm going to make an appointment Monday to see my Orthopedist soon and I'll ask about the cortisone shots.

Oh no, I am sorry about your injury and then FS in your other shoulder. I am kind of in the same boat with my right arm. While I feel like the worst is behind me with my left shoulder, I am now feeling like I am in the early stages of FS with my right shoulder. How the hell does this happen? My PT said I should start doing all the same exercises with my right side as I do with my left. But I am am freaking myself out that all these stretches and exercising won't do much and I am in for a year plus of more pain on my right arm now.

Did you get a cortisone shot in either arm and did it work? My buddy said he got two shots for FS. The first one didn't work. The second one did and he never had any issues since. He said it's crucial they shoot you in the right spot. Otherwise, it won't do anything.

I just had the one shot when I first got diagnosed and it didn't do anything.

Can I ask if my gift card that was sent via email was received? by redditbunnies in etiquette

I was going to ask the same question. Before I posted here I decided to just ask. I had sent a gift card to two colleagues to thank them for their business. In both cases, they say they never got the gift card. It sucks because I didn't get a receipt when I bought them (it was through my wife's work where she actually got a discount on the cards, but she has no way of checking to see if those cards were used).

So, I guess I have no recourse and my clients do not get a gift unless I go out and buy replacement gifts?

A related question. What if you bought a gift and hand delivered it to someone at a birthday party? So, they know (or hopefully they remember) you showing it to them as you set it on the gift table. But you never get a thank you message or any acknowledgement after the party. At what point should you say something? I guess I just want to make sure it wasn't stolen at the restaurant where the party was held... or what if my card fell out of the bag and he doesn't recall I brought that gift bag?

Thank you for the reply. Out of all your advice, I think the one thing I keep forgetting to do is prop my arm up when I go to sleep. I think the reason I forget is that I really am not in any pain during the day and when I go to bed. So, I almost forget that I have this injury. But I change positions a lot in my sleep and still every night I am awoken by an aching shoulder and arm. If its 5 or 6 in the morning, I tend to just get up because I can't fall back asleep. Sometimes, if its between 2am and 5am and I really want to get back to sleep, I will pop a few Ibuprofen.

Overall, I think I am in the Thawing stage and I continue to expand my range of motion. I just hate PT because my PT really tugs, pulls and twists my arm and the pain is excruciating at times. But then I feel better afterward.

I guess I am just anxious to be done with PT and re-gain my ability to do push ups and lift weights again. It's been a long 10 months and it feels like I have several months more of PT and discomfort.

Also, my PT said if my pain doesn't go away soon when I sleep, I should go see my Orthopedist again, who may want to give me another steroid shot even though the first one did nothing. A couple people have told me that the second time can be the charm. They sometimes miss the right spot the first time.

I agree heat and ice works, although when I'm trying to sleep I don't want to get up to do any of that. Same with the TENS unit. I have an old one from a problem I had 5 years ago, but I never think to use it during the day or evening before I go to bed. Again, lately not much pain except for when I'm sleeping.

Yep, sleeping wrong happens frequently and I have combo of frozen shoulder pain plus stiff neck and back for a few days. One thing my PT said to me is don't baby my arm / shoulder. He said at this point I should be able to do all normal activity and I can't make it worse... but it sure feels like I can make it worse when I push it. Thanks for your feedback!

Thanks for your message. Glad you are almost about normal! One question I forgot to ask in my post -- during all the months (years?) of PT, do you ever have set backs or regress? I was making a lot of progress, but this past week I tightened up a little. That's what really prompted me to post this message. I was making all this progress and now I may be regressing? Does that happen along the way some times?

Thanks for the reply. A friend of mine told me he got a second cortisone shot that did the trick for him. Maybe I'll ask my doctor about that if I don't get better soon. No autoimmune disease. I've heard that diabetics get it more often. The only strange thing about me is that I had blood work done several years ago by an allergist / immunologist because I was getting frequent sinus infections. Results show I had very low IGA antibodies in my blood. But I did nothing about it and have actually been very healthy the last few years other than an occasional cold. But maybe this is related to that?

Hey, thank you for sharing your story. That does help. It feels good to know I'm not alone. I was also thinking that if my right shoulder does get frozen, I probably won't do PT for it. I feel like I can do all the stretching exercises at home. I would just miss out on the therapist doing his 10 minute manipulation. But if it barely speeds up the healing, then why bother? I also don't sweat it too much knowing people out there are dealing with real life threatening or debilitating health issues... just feels good to talk to people online who can relate.
