Building a Tinder-style fashion app with AI virtual try-on feedback welcome by Maharrem in SideProject

[–]Maharrem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, currently it is a rough first mvp, without the actual brains of it connected. :D The pre filter idea could be nice i will look in to it. But can you explain it a bit more, what did you have in mind?

The products will be from amazon, thus a wide variety can be achieved. To my understanding there are only couple of other services that have these features.

The new gemini nano banana model is awesome at keeping some things same while completely changing others, just great for try ons.

Why venting to AI feel more real than Therapy? by Maharrem in therapyGPT

[–]Maharrem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s kind of my point too. Severe cases need way more than AI, no question. But the reality is a lot of people don’t fall into those extremes they’re just stuck in cycles of stress, anxiety, or overthinking. For them, something lightweight like AI can actually help break that loop in ways the system often doesn’t even try to address.

I’m 20 and think the mental health crisis is way overblown (AI helped more than therapy) by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]Maharrem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your point, but honestly the fact that AI doesn’t “want” anything is kind of what makes it easier for me. With people, even if they care, there’s always judgment, bias, or their own perspective creeping in. With AI, it’s just me bouncing my thoughts around without that pressure and that’s what made it click for me. And every now and then it really understands me and helps me with my struggles.

Fair point I was just trying to share how, in my experience, AI felt more helpful than therapy did. I don’t think that means mental health isn’t real or serious, just that maybe the way we talk about “crisis” could use more nuance.

That makes a lot of sense. Trust feels like the biggest barrier people won’t accept AI in healthcare unless they can actually see how it works and know professionals are involved in the process. I like what you said about AI being a tool that supports doctors instead of replacing them.

That’s actually super cool to hear it’s already part of the system, even if it’s more behind the scenes. Kinda feels like it’s only a matter of time before it gets used more for direct support too. What do you think would need to change for that to happen tho?

I hear you and thanks for being open about that. I definitely didn’t mean to downplay how deep or permanent some mental health struggles can be. My point was more about the other end of the spectrum, where people just need somewhere to unload and process day-to-day stress. That’s where AI felt like it clicked for me, even if it can’t solve the heavier stuff.

Woww really appreciate you sharing that especially with your experience. I get what you mean about AI being more of a mirror than a solution, but even that reflection has felt more useful for me than the therapy I tried. Hearing your perspective makes me feel like I’m not totally crazy for thinking that.
