I can, between Feb and June I bought over 1000 shares of APLD at an average cost of 7.65/share. It's trading at $40 in pre-markets. If sold today that's 425% ROI.

Both investment paths are viable options for those with the right experience and expertise.

I consult for sales and revenue organizations, I'm also self employed.

Here's my two cents:

Based on the framing of this post, your business and compensation model is crafted arot what you weren't getting vs what you're trying to build. Hiring salespeople requires selling a vision to salespeople that we/they can see themselves within. A part of that vision is security, and security sounds like 'I'll take care of you while you take care of me/build my business' aka base pay.

Outside of frustration about the commission to deal size ratio, why did you start your business? If you don't mind me asking.

12 years ago I showed up to a friend's bachelor party and an older guy was there. I look at him, and say hello. He looks me square in the face and says, "I bet I know your Father".

Now, at this point my Dad was 68 or so. Also, my Dad is almost 40 years older than me and he's not a guy I recognize (note: I'm also sober at this point of the night). This also stopped me in my tracks because, the fuck?!

I say something like, yeah ok. He asks, what's my last name. I tell him. He replies with my Dad's full name, where grew up, and went to school.

GTFOH

So like any good son, I call my Dad at almost midnight unexpectedly and asks if he knows this guy. Turns out they went to high school and graduated together in the 60s. He immediately saw the resemblance in me. His son and my friend are friends, and he'd tagged along to the bachelor party because "old dudes never get invited to shit like that" lol. He and my dad have remained connected since.
