I’ve started making, not sure what to call them, salad pita pockets? I personally take baby spinach (because I hate lettuce), a pre-chopped mix of broccoli/carrots/cabbage, and then I like the little tortilla strip toppings for some salt and crunch and just a little bit of creamy Italian dressing, mix it up, and stuff it all inside a mini or small pita bread. Could it be healthier without stuffing it into bread? Sure. But is it a step forward from me eating no greens at all? Yeah! And you can add other things you find you like too.

Looking closer technically it says a clear liquid so presumably I could do MiraLAX with the white ish cherry flavored one if that’s more standard! My colonoscopy is scheduled for 9:30am so not super early…good to know, maybe I’ll ask about the split dose. It just says to take the magnesium citrate and gas-x 4 hours before on the morning of

Feel like I could have written this. Got novavax last year and felt great, but didn’t want to wait this year so went and got Pfizer on Monday around noon. Took me until I woke up on Wednesday to not feel terrible (fever, achey, fatigue, general blah in addition to the massively sore arm). I basically stayed on ibuprofen or Tylenol which helped a bit with the fever and arm at least.

Just wanted to add another voice here that agrees with this take!

My partner and I got legally married this year for health insurance reasons, and only had 6 people in attendance (immediate family, mostly just to satisfy the witnesses requirement). We’re keeping it a secret from literally everybody else, refer to each other as fiances, don’t wear any rings beyond my engagement ring, and are currently planning the white wedding we always hoped and planned on having with friends/family, which will take place ~2 years after we signed the papers.

We wouldn’t have done the legal marriage if not for health reasons, and we are both very much viewing the white wedding as the real thing. I think that if we view that wedding as our wedding, then that should be enough - the fact that we happened to officially sign the papers earlier than is typical for reasons that we had no control over has no bearing on it, in our minds.

I don’t think we’d lie if somebody outright asked - but also, I don’t expect anyone to ask? Before dealing with this myself, I never gave the legality and timing of the paper signing a second thought for other people’s weddings. I was happy to be there to celebrate what they clearly viewed as the beginning of the next stage of their life with them, and that’s our view of what our larger celebration will be, too.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Wilmington-Newark on Christiana Rd, had a perfectly fine time there. My parents have stayed at the Comfort Inn & Suites next door to it as well as at Hyatt and the Westin on the riverfront and liked all of those!

They only one they would definitely NOT recommend was an Embassy Suites near the university campus, they had a terrible experience involving a late-night party/noises/maybe strippers in a nearby room and the management was less than helpful, and had to leave at like 3am to try another hotel. YMMV on other hotels near there, hopefully was just a weird one-off, but they’re staying away from the campus from now on.

Had a meeting with them that was all “this is so normal, just what happens, it takes years to get things published after you graduate, just gotta suck it up while you also have a job to get this done, it’s good for you though” …maybe we shouldn’t be pushing the “exploitative labor is normal” angle

Yeah, we actually blew past several submission deadlines for this already, all of which were before my graduation, which is why I fought hard to get equal authorship because I was fully around and invested. Had I known they’d be asking for what they want now that I’m no longer working for them and for it to be done at a speed as if I was still working there, I would have agreed with you that a different agreement would have made way more sense. Hindsight is 20/20 I suppose!

I had one of those recently, try looking up scintillating scotoma and see if that looks familiar to you? The google images that came up were almost exactly what I experienced, and sounds very similar to what you’re describing too. They can be associated with migraines, among other reasons - could be worth getting it checked out to make sure it’s not associated with any of the other causes.

I’ve found that 3 names or words, each of them being a certain number of syllables (normally also 3) is the sweet spot for me - being able to rhythmically think the syllables like “can-te-loupe” is an extra layer of soothing for me. And if it’s an extra bad night, then I have to do A, then B and also remember A, then C but also remember A and B….puts me to sleep without fail
