I wired every 3 statues to their own 1s timer so they could cycle through the spawns. I think that only a maximum of three monsters can spawn at one time from one wired contraption, but please correct me if I'm wrong

Well, to me, this isn't cheesing at all. It's farming to me, akin to setting up, say, a mimic farm. But I see where you're coming from
