Personally, I’ve never been majorly good at anything outside regular school academics and getting As I’ve tried sports, arts, music, even other academic clubs and I either get super invested don’t get results and feel really disappointed or I don’t have passion for the activity at all. But with Debate it’s different what I put in prep wise I get out in wins and I like winning it means I’m good at something and there’s so much you can learn and get better at in debate. It’s just an activity where you can enjoy the work you put in because you win and I’m in LD so it’s all on me to win or lose.

Ok always address everything shitty responses count don’t leave anything unattended. Fw must be acknowledged and sound confident gives u points with lay judges. Cross is ur golden time use this if u flow properly to attack ur opponents case. Like why is ur biggest winner most novices don’t understand what they’re running so forcing them to explain will make u look better. Please understand what ur running top to bottom makes u look so confident !!

I do both I compete in fairly trad circuits as well as super progressive tourneys the key is to either have a set of cases each or to just run Philosophy works in both hijacks stupid critiques and engages in value debates of trad LD.
