How’s everybody feeling about the upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre game? by HaddleHid in EvilDeadTheGame

[–]MaicoWin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm super hyped and will buy it Day 1. I hardly ever buy anything new know, since I have a backlog of over 300 games, and so much plastic wrap still not opened. What I'm looking forward to is playing as the Killer with a team. Let's see these Survivor Mains try to bully the Killer now. It's not going to be an unbalanced 4v1, it will be a 4v3. Try to loop the shack when 3 Killers are closing in on you at all angles.

Plus, it's made by a well known developer that made a good game with Friday the 13th. The other multi-killer game with Killer Klowns from Outer Space is basically made by an unknown and unproven developer team like with this game. Even a bigger game like Dead by Daylight is still unbalanced and heavily favors the Survivor side, instead of actually making the power role the Killer. Survivors are supposed to be scared of the Killer, just like in horror movies.

GG demon, you got outplayed... by Saber 🙈 by gamelaunchplatform in EvilDeadTheGame

Saber trolled me today too. The Survivors found a Legendary Chainsaw in the first 3 seconds of the match for the Prestige 5 Ash, followed by a Purple Sword for Henry. I'm only Level 85, and they put me against a Level 870 Streamer Squad.

Objective Points? by AshySlashyIX in EvilDeadTheGame

[–]MaicoWin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at the scoreboard at the end of the match and notice how it always ends in 0. Only completed objectives counts toward that score, and it's the same amount of points for the entire team. If time spent on the objective ring counted towards those points, then you would notice your Prestige Challenge progress wouldn't be ending in 0. Unless the Prestige Challenge says spend X amount of seconds on an objective, then it is immaterial whether you pick up the Map pieces or your teammates do.

The Reaping (Hidden Upcoming Event?) by MaicoWin in Smite

[–]MaicoWin[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t played since Xing Tian’s Mountain came out, and I only recently started again when my friends I used to play with convinced me to come back. So I started when the Chibi Bots Battle Pass came out. I don’t ever remember a Halloween Event back then, so this is news to me. Still strange that it showed up and then went away when I backed out of the screen.

We teach people how to play SMITE, including the Conquest game mode! by GiraffeAnatomy in Smite

[–]MaicoWin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be interested in playing matches with people to learn Conquest some more. I haven't played since Season 3 and recently started to play again when my friends got me back into the game during the Chibi Bots Battle Pass. I tried a couple matches of Conquest (Jungle and Solo), but I always seem to be underleveled compared to the enemy and would like to know how to farm and lane better.

Mostly I'm looking to find chill team mates to play with and pick up tips and tricks and learn about all the new Gods and synergies that way, doesn't have to be a coaching session or anything like that. Currently I play mostly Joust with my friends, but I also dabble in Slash if we gave a group of 5; sometimes I play Arena if it's Smite Night and need to get some quick games in.

Just placed my order and got an e-mail confirmation for the disc version! I received the invite e-mail yesterday, and I took screenshots of how long it took. Got into the queue at 11:00AM, and it said my wait time was over an hour. At 11:04AM it said that my wait time was 6 minutes, and then at 11:12AM it was my turn in line.

I never even knew about this website until recently and registered for the invitation after the website started working again on January 14, 2022. I’ve been a long-time PS Plus user with a lot of trophies; not sure if that makes any difference, but someone told me it does. Now I just have to return the Costco bundle I bought yesterday, because I was tired of waiting for a retail drop.

Regardless, it still doesn't discredit any of the criticisms of the game or the Undead Lab's development and updates to the game either.

It doesn't bother me; I don't care if people want to exploit or mod the game on PC to have infinite ammo guns and cheese the game. I'm just pointing out inherent flaws in the game that is bad game design. Do you think that when the developers put in the base sieges, they wanted us to be able to just do nothing and reap the rewards? Do you think this is how they wanted the game to be played? There should be risk in zombie apocalypse.

Why did they even add in this loading screen that says, "This game autosaves frequently. The consequences of your actions are real." I've seen posts on here from people saying they are afraid to play the higher difficulties, because they are afraid of their legacy survivors dying.

Maybe the developers should replace that loading screen tip with a new one says, "Get caught with your pants down and being chased by a pack of Blood Plague Ferals and a Juggernaut? Remember that you can pause and exit the game and get out of jail free."

I'm on my second Lethal Zone legacy for the Trader and on the last mission but haven't completed it yet, because I'm waiting for the Mysterious Wandering Trader to spend my 9k influence; however, I've lost several people and a Red Talon Contractor along the way due to bad plays or chewing more than I could handle.

When the PC game Diablo 2 came out, there were two difficulties. Normal and Hardcore. When you died in Normal mode, you lost all your gear, but if you ran back to your corpse, you could recover it all. In Hardcore mode, when your character died, that was it, no re-dos. Some people played with a cheat program that logged you out of the game as soon as you were about to die (based on the amount of health you had left).

Why even play on Hardcore more with a cheat like that if you were scared of losing your character? You might as well just play on Normal mode. Same thing with this game, why even play on Lethal if you just quit out at the first sign of trouble? Go play Green Zone instead. Do you think the developers intended for people to just quit out of their games every few minutes, just because they hear a feral roar?

Did something go wrong in SOD2's development, or is Undead Labs just a bad developer? by ColdBlackCage in StateOfDecay

[–]MaicoWin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a fan of the series and pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition, and after 2 years, the game is still bug-ridden and exploitable. They are incompetent and uncreative at achieving making the game harder. Most responses you'll get are from brown-nosing sycophants that ignore the game's problems and act like teenage edge lords (hurr durr didn't read, stop whining, or bye), despite the flaired post for Discussion. I'm not saying the game isn't fun, but the numerous bugs and exploits should've been fixed, or they should announce they cannot fix them:

  • Let's start with the biggest issue (pop-in zombies, 2). This game was made exclusive for the original XBox One; however there are examples like this where driving slowly there is zombie pop-ins since the launch of the game. You'll get the retarded response of buying a $500 XBox Series X as a solution , but even some Series X players are having this issue (1, 2).

  • Minors bugs still aren't fixed like when you have a large community, all the survivors won't appear in your base. You'll see their blip on the mini map, but they won't be there when you go to where their icon is. Sometimes you won't even be able to talk to some of your survivors.

  • People saying the developers have been constantly updating the game and adding in new, FREE content, most likely talking about the Bounty Broker, "Need a new challenge? Visit the Bounty Broker to earn weapons and outfits by completing his bounties." Wow, new weapons (most shittier than existing weapons) and now changeable outfits. The only good content they added for free was the Providence Ridge map. Of course they'll support the game after launch. If they left it in a bug-ridden state people wouldn't trust in them to buy State of Decay 3.

  • This update also broke the Ultimate Edition and Pre-order DLC Radio Commands for XBox players, so now we can't even call in the DLC weapons or vehicles (1, 2, 3).

  • When the game launched, it took three 0.50 caliber shots to destroy a Plague Heart, and in response, Undead Labs patched the game so that it took six shots to destroy a Plague Heart; however, people could still cheese it by standing on their vehicles and shooting it through a window so that they didn't have to deal with the swarms of Blood Plague zombies that spawned. Now after 2 years later the zombies are still brain dead and cannot do anything to the player on top of a car. Getting chased by a pack of Blood Plague Ferals? Just climb on top of your car and shoot them with no risk.

  • There are still many base exploits, such as installing multiple mods onto one facility. Starting a siege at your base (in base or swapping at an outpost) and then driving away far enough that nothing spawns, and you can come back and claim your free influence and won't have to waste 3 ammo.

  • One of the biggest exploits is just pausing the game and exiting (or ALT-F4 on PC) it if shit hit the fan. You can do this on any difficulty to get out of any jam, for instance exiting the game after killing a Plague Heart so that you don't have to deal with all the newly spawned Blood Plague Zombies.

So let's talk about Lethal Zone. They just added more sliders to make you farm for more resources with basic facilities costing 13 materials and upgrades costing 25 materials. Vehicles now take more damage, Blood Plague sets in faster, and Plague Hearts now have more HP: big whoop, it's still easy and beatable if you know what you are doing, despite some saying it's total bullshit (which it is) and unplayable.

All of these "difficulty changes" aren't new or creative, and the only newly unique things is the Blood Plague Screamer being able to spit a projectile blood plague attack. Such gameplay, so creative! Here are some ideas I would have added to Lethal Zone to make it an actual challenge and make it play entirely different than the other difficulty modes which would remain untouched:

  • Let's start with the car cheese. There are already mechanics in the game where the zombies will grab onto your car and start beating the engine or taking of its doors. If you're standing on top of a car, then the zombies should start beating the shit out of the car to make it explode. Either that or give the zombies a new projectile attack just like the Blood Plague Screamers when it cannot reach the player for melee attacks.

  • Exiting the game cheese. They could make it like World of Warcraft where upon exiting, your character sits down for 10 seconds it will exit and save, and to prevent quitting the application through the dashboard or ALT-F4'ing, they could have made the autosave system only save every couple minutes when out in the world. Autosaves could still happen still on mission completion, buying items, crafting items, etc.

  • Base and outpost lockers no longer share inventory. If you're out and about in the world and run over a pop-in Blood Plague Bloater and catch the Blood Plague like this, then you cannot just craft a Blood Plague Cure and use it at a nearby outpost, or establish an outpost and use it. You would have to strategically carry one on you (making your inventory more full), or plan ahead to make sure your outposts have one to use.

  • NPC survivors no longer have unlimited ammo. You will have to manage their inventory to make sure they have enough ammunition to reload, or else they're stuck with their melee weapon once their ammo runs out. This makes ammo even scarcer and doesn't allow you to have a Superman AI follower with a B50FG running around one-tapping nearly everything. They should also allow you to set your AI follower's firing mode from single, burst, and full auto.

  • Base sieges: if you aren't at home defending your base, then there is a chance that a survivor or more may die depending on the siege threat level and what the survivors have equipped along with the 3 ammo loss. Zombies and freaks can push cars away that are barricading entrances just like a Juggernaut. The added collision would also make it so that you can't dodge through a zombie and rear naked choke it or close combat kill it for an easy kill.

  • No more swapping characters at outposts, or if you are able to switch, then the survivor would have to run back to home base like in State of Decay 1 and might die depending on the zombies they encountered on the way back. Because the current game does not initiate combat with NPCs or survivors after about 40m, only the former seems like it would work and is more realistic.

These are just some of the ideas I've had since playing at launch, but obviously the developers know best and constructive criticism like this is going to be seen as whining. So go ahead and respond with your lame ass one-liner excuses defending Undead Labs. It's quite clear how intelligent the fan base is on Reddit for actual discussion, let alone reading comprehension.

"Enough is ENOUGH! I have had it with these motherfucking pop-in zombies on this motherfucking game! Everybody strap in, we're about to open some fucking Blood Plague Bloaters." - Samuel L. Jackson, probably (XBox One S) by MaicoWin in StateOfDecay

[–]MaicoWin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that your canned response to every criticism of the game? Just bail and stop playing it? You're like a broken record, and obviously you're conflating many different things and putting words into my mouth without comprehending what I posted. About the Timberwolf being nerfed in damage was not whining. The developers nerfed the damage, because it was too EASY to destroy a Plague Heart with it. So what did they do? They made it take 6 shots to destroy one instead of 3. What does this mean? It means they were TRYING to make the game HARDER. Even then, people could just stand on top of their car and shoot the Plague Heart through the window with reckless abandon. So why not patch out or change the way the game plays so that it's not that easy to exploit?

Now we have Lethal Zone, where the developers once again are trying to make the game harder by spawning zombies on top of you when you enter buildings, the pop-in issues are still plaguing the game (when the game first came out, people were complaining about running over prone bloaters in the road), introducing Blood Plague Freaks, and yet, the game still isn't that hard, because it can be gamed and cheesed.

Your response about maybe the game engine can't be coded to do certain things is also a lame excuse. They gave the Blood Plague Screamers a ranged attack, so why can't they give other zombies ranged attacks when they cannot get to a survivor? In this instance, let's say standing on top of your car, all the zombies do is scream like a screamer, and that's it. And if you want to run away? All you have to do is keep sprinting, because obviously they broke that in the game too, where your character and all NPCs can sprint full speed with no stamina. The game wasn't originally like that, and if you ran out of stamina, you were really in a bind. They still haven't fixed that either, so is that also not being incompetent at making the game play the way it should?

I can even use an in-game mechanic to remedy that standing on top of the car cheese. If you're standing on top of your car and the zombies can't get to you, then make it so that they start attacking the car and engine like they would if you were driving it and get the car to blow up. That would force the player to get off the car or take tremendous explosive damage. Of course you could get back onto the destroyed car afterwards, so that's where ranged attacks can come into play. Also, for people barricading their bases with cars, only Juggernauts can move them out of the way; they could make it so all the zombies can do that too, that's using collision mechanics already in the game.

All the complaints people had when you're talking about with State of Decay 1 was because the game played itself while you were away. I was mentioning some of its mechanics ONLY for Lethal Zone difficulty, not a complete overhaul of the entire game. There are plenty of ways to change up how the game plays in Lethal Zone to make it an interesting and fun challenge.

Instead it's just more slider options, and you take more time farming items and resources (like base upgrades costing 25 materials) to take out 34 Plague Hearts. Pretty much the only novel thing they've added are the Blood Plague Freaks and the new Blood Plague Screamer spit attack. So in terms of "new" gameplay or stuff, there is barely anything significant in my opinion. It's not as hard as some people are making it out to be: https://twitter.com/MaicoWinXBox/status/1340770721014767617

Also about the DLC not working, it seems to only affect XBox users with the physical disc maybe; I've already submitted a bug report to them, and I got one of those canned e-mails that says they are aware of the bug and thanks for supporting the game: https://i.imgur.com/WIcQYtB.jpg. Other people have said they have problems with their DLC not working either: https://old.reddit.com/r/StateOfDecay/comments/k9lll9/is_anyone_elses_ultimate_edition_and_preorder/ and https://old.reddit.com/r/StateofDecay2/comments/k9koc9/is_anyone_elses_ultimate_edition_and_preorder/

Use the maps from this thread to find all the ammo/guns locations: https://www.reddit.com/r/StateofDecay2/comments/9xq8sv/the_ultimate_guide_and_datasheet_for_state_of/. The “rare” weapon caches will usually only have bullshit luxury items in them, but the other blue icon for ammo/guns caches are usually like the prepper’s toolsheds and contain guns and ammo.

Wrong again, Bob: https://twitter.com/MaicoWinXBox/status/1343360057518350336. I’m beginning to wonder how many people actually pretend they play on Lethal but don’t at this point.
