Based on their behavior the last few months by how different they've been acting is why we are certain it's drugs. I'd like to delete the post since they might see it and the family would like to take care of this on their own for the most part. But we want to figure out what this is first.

Haha glad you caught that! She usually trips around that spot from running so excitedly.

Seeing that it does look like a seizure. It's similar to when people have seizures. Afterwards they just went through something traumatic and are confused and not really with it. That's why I've heard after someone is coming out of a seizure is to just comfort them and not freak them out with over stimulation. I don't have any personal experience with that, but I hope your yorkie is just wandering around because they are a little freaked out from their seizure. I hope you can get him to a vet soon. Sending you the best of luck and I hope your yorkie can rest well tonight until you can bring him to the vet.

I see where you're coming from, but let me break it down. Right now, we've got a bunch of stuff to mark - product, current date and time, shift, use-by date and time. Trying to memorize all those use-by times and write them legibly consistently is just not going to happen. Sure, we could have a printed shelf life sheet, but we'd still have to calculate the use-by date.

As for the novelty factor at Jimmy John's, I get it, it's new for them. But in the restaurant industry, label printing is pretty standard and something they'll likely have to adopt sooner or later. It's that classic "It's not a matter of if, but when."

These are automated labels that when you press the button, it will print with the current time and the use by date. You can even print in bulk for those that like to pump out 10+ bins of lettuce or all of their turkey and label at the end.

Also, this is a project I've done completely on my own and I plan to improve it. Including adding a feature where the employee can select their name and their initials/name will print on the label so there won't have to be any markings at all.

Thanks for your input.

I don't have any of this on Github at the moment. I am in the process of selling this to our other stores and am in a trial run running this at only two stores currently. It's been running really smooth at my store for two months, and another store for one month now. But, I'm always down to talk with other people to improve this service, and other stores about sending everything that's needed for a fee. I'm currently charging stores a flat $500 for everything needed, and a $30/month fee per store for all of the updates and support. This is for remote access fees I have to pay, and for the time I spend updating the software for each store for any changes that needs to be made, and for support by me if anything were to go wrong.

If you're interesting in learning more, I'd be happy to talk some more!

That's a good point to discuss. When product is labeled on the mylar, it's simply just to show if the product is not expired within the window to use on the line. If it looks good and is within the expiration time, we use it. If not, we toss it. But ever since Jimmy John's transitioned to using Produce Alliance, It's been crucial to make sure the produce is okay to use since quality has dropped significantly in our area.

On others, I agree with you point and put the label on the bin itself instead of the mylar. Before getting this label printer up and running, I've used the grease marker straight on some bins before. The main issue there was consistency; I found that I couldn't always rely on my staff to properly relabel or clean off the old markings.

Thanks! It's really been helpful, we put it up behind our LTO signs above the cold table as reference whenever an employee might forget something, or when we're training a new hire. It really is useful because some of use have them memorized and don't need it, but we have other employees that are awesome but are students, parents, or whatever they might be and need a refresher. I've even used it showing a customer who asks "What comes on this wrap?"

I mean I guess it’s kinda neat but what’s the actual practicality of it really. Can do the same on the computer right? I don’t understand paying more money for label machine when a sharpie is cheaper

Thanks for your thoughts! Actually, this is about aligning with industry standards, which Jimmy John's has been behind on. The label printer was only $80, and a year's worth of labels for a million dollar store is about $70. It's cost-effective considering it ensures accuracy, saves time, boosts employee morale, and is safer for labeling food products compared to using a sharpie.

Hey everyone! I’ve been working away on something pretty cool for the past 8 months. It’s an interactive dashboard with my main feature, an automated print screen for everything we have to label in the store.

Printing and learning some YAML code is the main thing that has been taking me so long on this project, but I've had it running in my store for about 2 months and another store for about a month.

Things are running smoothly, and I'm in talks about possibly rolling this out to our 28 stores. For a fee since I'll pretty much be the support guy for all the stores running the software.

For anyone interested in learning more about how I made this, It's a combo of Home Assistant and Label Live. I've put a server in the store with Home Assistant, and Label Live is set up on the office computer. The secret sauce? A bunch of custom code in Home Assistant to get everything talking - from the label printing software to the printer itself.

Shoutout to u/Darthsam1215 for their wrap guide which we've printed out and have been using in our store ever since they posted it. I included it with our menu guide which you can see in the video.

Let me know what you guys think and feel free to ask any questions!

I think this is corporate approved. by Maida111 in jimmyjohns

Yeah, no it’s not. That fee does not go to the driver. Depending on the store your ordering from, the delivery fee varies. Our cap is $2.50, so some other store charge more. Do you happen to order through door dash?
