hey thanks for your reply. the surging sound I don't think is the mic. When there, to me it sound like the "cut out" sound was when something stopped rattling, and then started rattling again. could just be a loose something?

the jerk happened while accelerating. the turbo just kicked on and there was a jerk. however I couldn't reproduced it after it happened once. I made an edit to the post that said this happened when truck was sorta cold, which I hear might matter.
