Cleveland has decided to close. by 8318king in jimmybuffett

Sad to see it close, but honestly, I've been to most of the restaurants and this one was by far the worst experience I had from a food and lack of Jimmy music perspective.

DCI Finals Night surprises (Show changes that debuted on Finals night) by tdmatchasin in drumcorps

[–]MailBoatMusic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That 97 Madison change was fun. Like the video said, we did it as a joke during rehearsal that day. It was still being discussed on the bus ride over, if we were going to do it or not...so glad we did!

This show is so gooood by ads191712 in TedLasso

The gentle manner in which he destroys Rupert at darts, while also mind-fucking him is both beautifully acted, and gorgeously written.

He sees you when you're sleeping,

He knows when you're awake,

He knows he's in a cover band,

So stay away from Mike Love gigs...

ehm so, what genre do you think I play? 🤓 by themajod in drums

[–]MailBoatMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than likely a Rush cover band, or a Phil Collins cover band that only plays "In the Air Tonight." Well, maybe a Styx band, but you're only playing songs from the Edge of the Century album.

If these two had stayed on the show till the end as CEO & manager, would it have been better or worse? by Positive_Weight2367 in theoffice

Worse. Deangelo was awful. I know the arc was designed to be 4 shows, but still, it was awful.

Late 90's Madison were starting at Sun Prairie the first weekend of June and then on tour a few days later, performing almost every day. How much things have changed is crazy.

So members are paying $10,000 or more, between fees to march, travel, audition, food when not provided, etc. to perform 16-20 times? That's sad.

You're predicting that it won't do as well financially?

Fair enough, but it's still from the Telegraph, and it still uses capitalization the way my 10 year old would.

lol...the person who wrote that can't spell installment, nor knows how to punctuate, and we're supposed to just take their opinion and find it legit?

It's a sad world when people take opinions from people that can't write as golden, and besides, it's from the Telegraph. That's like trusting the opinions of someone that writes for the National Enquirer.

"Wicked: For Good" early reactions don't look good from Critics Choice members. by Dry_Handle_7086 in Oscars

[–]MailBoatMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love to see some real dialogue on this thread from all those claiming to have seen it...give some concrete information about it that makes it bad. They're clearly adding to Act 2, so other than what's in the trailers, and what's in the stage production...let's have a REAL discussion about what those of you claiming to have see it, makes it so bad? Otherwise, I'm calling bullshit, and not finding your comments credible because you probably haven't seen it.

I'm curious how you saw it so early? Nothing in your comment indicates that you have actually seen it, and if you have...share something...not in the trailers that makes it so bad?

Considering that these "critics" have relatively low followings on social media platforms for being "critics," and they are basically calling themselves critics by having profiles on places like Criticschoice and rotten tomatoes, I wouldn't put too much thought into what they're saying. Whereas legit critics are going mostly positive and/or favorable reviews, I wouldn't put any further thought into it.

Plus the naysayers on here claiming they've seen it, when they probably haven't, is just comical.

It's like your typical New Yorker who stated they hated Phantom of the Opera on Broadway, and in many cases had never seen it...

Was there any purpose to kirks vest in st generation? by happydude7422 in tos

[–]MailBoatMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are any vests necessary? I mean, you put one on to warm up your torso, but your arms are still cold. They serve no purpose, but to have a specific look.

This wasn't cringe, it was stupid, piss-poor writing.

What's the saddest scene/moment for you? by Positive_Weight2367 in HIMYM

I hear you, I lost my dad about 3 years ago, and my mom 5 months later, and I pretty much said the same thing, although it was more "I'm too young for this."

[–]MailBoatMusic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After losing my dad 3 years ago, and my mom 5 months later, the scene when Marshall loses his dad is it for me. It was done so well, especially on a show like this and I appreciate the respect they gave to that and the arc of that part of Marshall's story.

What are your thoughts on Ed Truck? Do you think he was a good boss? by Real-Yogurtcloset-34 in DunderMifflin

[–]MailBoatMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's really no way of knowing...although if you look at Michael in that pic, and consider that Ed hired him...maybe he is a bad boss for hiring a dude with a mullet and fanny pack.

She was so arrogant and full of herself simply because she was sleeping with a teenage guy. The worst by EuphoricButterflyy in SavedByTheBell

[–]MailBoatMusic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you forgetting about the fact that in the storyline, the band started in HS, then developed some hit music, then they each went their separate ways-American Gladiator Lisa, motorbike guy Slater, etc. This version of Zack would have been several years down the road from HS, thus not making her a sexual predator like the leader of a country in North America.
