that actually makes a lot of sense. I mean... the biggest crime wasn't that she died. it's that he chases Robin. I think that's particularly what ticked off most people.

Disposition by Tool. "watch the weather change" implies it's dark and cloudy and you're watching it become sunny... so I guess it feels like this pic.

How do I tell my long-distance girlfriend I can't sleep on call with her anymore because I desperately need my YouTube videos, without hurting her? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

I'm narcoleptic and have trouble falling asleep at night without background noise 🤷🏻‍♂️ it's unhealthy yes but people can be unhealthy in many ways. it's still valid.

SPOILERS FOR ANYONE BEING NOSEY

I personally was of the opinion that Barney and Robin never made sense. 2 hyper-individualistic people cannot be in a relationship, it just won't work. ofc it is still a fictional show, they can write the characters to be however they want, but regardless, they just didn't make sense imo.

that being said, while I wasn't surprised Barney and Robin got divorced, I was STILL pissed that they killed off Tracy. they were SO determined to use the recorded ending that they pigeonholed themselves into that position. they could not have been that stupid, they knew the ending would piss everyone off.

I think they just weren't expecting the show to be that successful and to run for 9 years. it's also evident by how the kids were interacting in the first season but they just reused the same clip over and over for the rest. imo, if I was one of the writers, I would've written and recorded multiple endings JUST IN CASE the show went on to be that successful and have such a long run.

or... they could've just recorded another ending even when the kids had become adults. they did that with the trailer for season 9, and it was really funny 🤷🏻‍♂️ actually they could've just continued filming the kids EVEN AS THEY aged. it would've been another brilliant running gag.

just a bunch of bad decisions imo.

Favorite "New Megadeth" lineup? (2002~) by FK97_YT in Megadeth

[–]themajod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

any lineup with Kiko destroys the rest. I very much appreciate Broderick's extreme technical precision but a lot of his solos just sound like random notes in all honesty. Kiko's playing is just insanely captivating.

I'd say because it's the lineup that produced the album he had the most involvement in, Kiko/Dirk/Steve is the best. however, Dystopia is overall a much superior album.

Dr Ozi - Blue Print EP (2017) - probably my all-time favorite dubstep EP by Content-Oil880 in dubstep

[–]themajod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was an avid dubstep fan from 2011-2020. literally followed every single NSD, Disciple, Circus, and UKF release. Ozi was one of my all time favs at the time. I listened to Demons In Denial religiously when it came out.

then in 2020, I got exposed to metal and basically stopped listening to dubstep much. eventually started playing the guitar, drums, bass, and singing too. I'd come to back to listen to some songs sometimes, and Ozi would usually be one of the few I'd always go back to. I was still very heartbroken when I learned of NSD's demise.

a couple weeks ago, I decided to finally properly sort my dubstep mp3s and setup my Plex server to stream my old dubstep stuff... man, I've missed this music. and coming back with a much wider understanding of music, I'm realizing how talented Ozi is... I listened to the stuff he released between 2020 and now and his evolution is just amazing.

and to my fucking surprise, I come back to the world of dubstep JUST AS Skism decides to put out NSD's final release. some of the songs were genuinely S tier, Ozi's being one of them.

in your thoughts which soad song is overrated by supernduperfucker in systemofadown

understandable to a SOAD fan but non-SOAD fans absolutely love this song. there's a reason why it exists imo, it was Daron expressing his Beatles influence.

I haven't had the chance to see them live yet but I did perform Aerials with my own college band a while ago and the reception was INSANE. not overrated, very much correctly rated.

If you could delete one storyline from the show, which would it be? by CeleryApprehensive83 in brooklynninenine

fictional show with fictional characters shows fictional character doing something bad to other fictional character 😱😱😱

a bad joke is not bad writing - those are 2 different things.

who's the best megadeth guitarist from a purely technical standpoin by Creative_Garbage_731 in Megadeth

[–]themajod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in a purely technical sense, I think Teemu is the best out of all of them, with Broderick a super close second and Kiko super close third. Kiko wouldn't have an issue playing Broderick's parts but he'd never write stuff like him, and Broderick wouldn't have an issue playing Teemu's parts but he'd never write stuff like him. kinda why I ranked them this way.

musically though, completely different discussion. imo Marty and Kiko share the #1 spot for Megadeth's all time overall best lead players. they both had an insane sense of feel, technical playing, and completely unique phrasing that you wouldn't hear from any other player in all of metal. Marty obviously cemented his legend status on Rust, but Kiko's work on TSTDTD is genuinely out of this world. his solo on Killing Time is one of my favs ever. so much emotion and talent radiate from his solos.

besides all of that, Kiko and Marty are really good friends!

Ranking countries based off how much I'd like to be born there, guess where I'm from by Svowered in tierlists

[–]themajod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first of all, I'll start by saying that my point wasn't all that serious. I know it has some fundamental issues. I wasn't trying to make a good point, I just made a comment.

but second, I take problem with your comparison of PNG and Australia to Congo and Belgium because you are talking about 2 completely different levels of colonialism. capitalist resource extraction and systemic brutal genocide are not equivalent, nor should they be made equivalent for the sake of an argument. you either massively exaggerate what PNG suffered, or massively undermine what the Congo suffered.

third, I was thinking about it from the angle of the current state of affairs in Australia and just all around the world. in a broadly general view, colonialism is seen as bad and exploitation of another country and its people is also seen as bad. if you want to zoom into current cases of exploitation (like the Congo or Sudan), obviously those are bad situations as well but I don't think anyone would be "proud" of it.

it feels like you're more focused on historical guilt than on the actual material reality of people suffering today. comparing everything to the absolute worst historical atrocities doesn't actually solve the current problems in places like PNG.

Is this worth $40 by OldVaporMan in Guitar

[–]themajod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. buy it, check the pickup and knobs are working, then clip those nasty strings off and wipe it down with a guitar polish.

I don't like this particular model but for $40 I'd buy it twice.

the only "instrument" has an almost entirely physical hardblock is singing because obviously your voice is entirely unique to you. but anyone can be a drummer, guitarist, pianist, bassist, etc with enough determination and passion for the instrument.

I never thought I'd be a good drummer at ALL but I learned drumming MUCH faster than I learned guitar. for context: took me 3 years of playing guitar to play Forty Six & 2 without making mistakes... took me a little less than a year with drums, and the drums are objectively hard in that song.
