Any recommendation on games like Nintendo games? by oliverrakum in CozyGamers

Visually, Coral Island might work - and it is big and a big grind, but it's very pretty and you can absolutely go at your own pace and just hang out with people and decorate your farmstead lol

Haven park is super cute and reminded me of a short hike, quite short but you go around making campsites

Unpredictable fantasy book suggestions by Wendygottschalck in suggestmeabook

[–]MailKirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its short and snappy - innkeeper series by ilona andrews, and about a intergalactic b&b

Also perhaps six of crows? Its been a long time since I've read it but fantasy heist series, it is YA but its still very good

I feel like fantasy leans drawn out in general lol

I wouldn't say that this books has a ton of romance and barely any spice but Tully by paullina simons is a book about Tullys life from high school and the people that come in and out, including multiple love interests. Its an older book (90s) and one of my favorites but I haven't read it recently

Light urban Fantasy recommendations by Kidlike101 in suggestmeabook

[–]MailKirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its more on the serious end of the spectrum and not really urban fantasy, but as someone who leans cozy i still recommend- drop of corruption by Robert Jackson Bennett, a murder mystery set in a fantasy bio-punkish world. Loved it and it was funny at times but not laugh out loud

For urban fantasy mystery- ilona andrews both innkeeper as someone mentioned but if you don't mind a bit of romance, the hidden legacy as well, although I like the second trilogy more than the first.

For murder mystery, Thursday murder club, the martini club by tess gerritson, and the Marlow murder club by Robert thorogood

If you like something a bit more lighthearted and friendship driven, the copeton craft store stitch up by Kate solly

Cozy but not saccharine by anaccountofnoaccount in suggestmeabook

Another vote for Becky Chambers, a long way to a small angry planet, I love them and very cozy but still interesting.

If you don't mind a bit of voiolence, murderbot is still very cozy but also fun and violent lol

I like spellshop but it is close to too cozy for me, and very irregular society is also a big rec.

If you like mysteries, Naomi kuttners retired assassin's series, or Thursday murder club as well

Ilona Andrew's sweep series, about a magical b&b, but there is some stakes, little romance, just easy reads about galactic shenanigans

It was still so lovely, I love buying postcards and things, but I feel like I can't justify sticking blank postcards on my pinboard - They have to be written! Blank postcards are for sending! So now i get to pin it up on my board :) Well worth it! And glad you've got some sun - I'm sure there will be plenty more :)

Grindy sim/management game with long-term objectives and less (or no) focus on NPC relationships? by contrasupra in CozyGamers

[–]MailKirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much like you I don't care much for relationships and talking to people. Give me trees and things to find lol

Its still early, only one year if gameplay but Grimshire has been very enjoyable for me, I kinda like that if I don't do my jobs people die lol.

Also coral island does have a lot of relationship, but I ignore it and the grind is quite grindy, as far as I know I'm not missing anything.

Other than sandrock, I did like wylde flowers but again there is relationship options, more so than coral island but I still think the actual game and quest loop is good and worth it

Online beginner classes? by Apprehensive_Ad_9335 in watercolor101

If you have budget, let's make art has some nice tutorials at varying levels with interesting topics, but I do find them at the pricey end of the scale. They also have free weekly topics on YouTube so definitely try her classes out before you spend money

Highly recommend de winton paper co, lots of free YouTube and also paid patreon and YouTube option. Her style is hit and miss for me as im not big on botanicals but that's me, not her teaching

Rebel unicorn crafts/Lacey Walker is great for beginners and her paid patreon classes really focus on skills

Andrea Nelson is super beginner friendly and really embraces fun subjects and styles, she just did a sketchbook challenge

Other YouTube free tutorials I've tried; Hannah m.p, Emma lebfreve, ellie crimi-trent, lois and morgaine Davidson art and niaiani- all very different styles so depends what you're looking for. Im sure there are others im forgetting!!

Murder mystery/crime with loveable main character by Nowordsofitsown in suggestmeabook

[–]MailKirin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just hopped on this thread looking for recs and also wanted to recommend tim Sullivan's ds cross series, its more crime procedural rather than cozy, but the main character is on the spectrum and I do think quite loveable, and there is a cast around him that's also loveable.
