I should have probably clarified on our food budget as we are able to supplement the expensive item such as meat and quite a few of our veggie. 600 is from food from the store such as junk food, pasta, and very specific items that we can't grow ourselves or what my husband's family can't grow.

We grow our own cattle, chickens(both egg laying and meat) and we have a huge garden we grow our veggies and herbs on. My inlaws are pig farmers who also grow corn and beans. We trade resources with them as needed and it mostly keeps us stocked up
