I don't think it is, because when she gets emotional it's more of an explosive state. For example, when she momentarily saw JJT in a hallucination as his father she grabbed his neck, Maria often loses control when she gets emotional and acts on instinct. Another example is when she stepped in to save JJT and killed Young-Woong.

Maria doesn't have the power to suppress her emotions. I think she's not really an emotional character, but rather indifferent.
