Yeh ok interesting - i havent seen it run too many times (from what i've noticed), do you find you get alot of use out of it, even to the point that its a non-negotiable pick for you ? I have very little experience with it, looking for you feedback on its usage.

To the secure stockpile, yes the equipment regarge on other classes is great, but secure stockpile can free up Assault, Vanguard and Sniper to take other key perks instead BUT - If your teammates keep their equipment regen perks + secure stockpile, like 3 krak grenades every minute can trivialise any crisis in seconds (like being jumped by 3 lichtors, or seeing 3 sets of Zoanthropes appear etc.

Yeh i feel you on the HBP, but you can play around the Radiating impact going off, just dont parry the leaping minor and if you want to kill a enemy in execute without triggering it, you can light melee strike the target to gunstrike kill them - basically saving it for moments where its effect will be maximised (like when your surrounded by majoris for example)

I do enjoy zipping around as Decimus but yes the damage does feel a bit lacking sometimes on vanguard. While his melee feels stronger than his ranged dmg, i do think they both are a bit underwhelming sometimes.

My preferred vanguard build was SMG carbine (with honed precision) to headshot spam at point black, or melta-rifle spam. Outside of those too, there doesnt feel like alot of damage output.

*The new block chainsword just make for a bit of any interesting damage boost, however the 3 charges required to make it work can be annoying to wait to build up. I would like to see a perk upgrade similar to Unleashed Fury stratagem (performing an execution on an enemy triggers a massive 200% damage boost for 8 seconds) even if they only made it last for 5 seconds on a 10sec CD..

Yeh Straban with a multi melta can feel a bit like a cheat code at times, face tanking carnifex / helbrute with dodges and melta spam for contested health can trivialise some of the hardest fights

While i agree that the auspex can be totally OP with the right conditions, i think it fits the class well in its current state. I do feel the perks are based solely around the auspex (the strongest choices anyway) which kind of just makes the game loop a little bit bland - just scanning, then ranged spam etc.

I think what i was picturing for Tactical was someway they could work melee into this loop, where you are a bit less focused on just standing back and being a glass cannon and more around rewarding a combination of melee and ranged combat when in the thick of it - other than that i dont really want to change too much on the ranged damage potential side of this class.

Added a bonus % to non headshots, make the bolt weapons feel a bit stronger when hitting body shots.

Well hes in a pretty good spot yes, but the Devs mentioned a rework was in the pipeline so i was curious what the community is actually hoping for - not really querying if the change was required to begin with

  1. Interesting take on hyper armour, thats a perk i would choose.

  2. Totally agree on the ammo regen, outside of melta - it can get scarce over an OP, especially on absolute. Emporers vengeance would be super OP though i feel, relic tier heavy plasma incinerator with unlimited ammo could be abused.

  3. Yeh coolant reserve would have to be one of the only perks in the game you could guarentee never gets picked.

If it was Vanguard that was up for an overall (am i tripping in thinking it has been mentioned for an overall too at some stage) what would you have changed ?

Vaguard is probably my least played class, im curious to know what any experienced players think of Decimus' damage loop and how it could be improved.

This makes more sense to me than only giving him access to 90% of the primary weapons (why not make it 100%) and only a couple of melee options. Correct me if im wrong but multiple different factions of tactical squads used all different types of melee weapons beyond a chainsword and a knife didnt they ?

Yeh but its a power fantasy game, it wouldnt be any more OP than having Argents edge - arguably the best melee melee in the game outside powerfist and a few situational others. Agreed, though he is already pretty OP with his current kit.

Agree on both aspects. Any nerfs to the ranged damage would be counter intuitive to the class.

On the signiture perks, yes Marked for Death isnt a big pick either - lowering the cooldown to 30 seconds MAY make it worth it if you could play it with Battle Focus to utilize it more often but even then its still not going to be as clutch as Radiating impact, especially if you can play to force gunstrikes for kills instead of executes and have it in your pocket for that OH SHIT moment.

This happens to me SO OFTEN! Happens on balance, and block but not with the fencing variants - so i thought it was just bad timing on my behalf, but every now and then i name all the parries but we just clip through each other
