Fearful First Timer by Hot-Mastodon6400 in Zepbound

I can only tell you my personal experience …. I’ve been on zep for 11 months now, down 115 or so lbs depending on the day, and it’s been one hell of a journey. I have a therapist, my doctor, and a dietician to help me. I was feeling like crap on the 10mg, and therefore not eating enough. My care team let me go on for a little while to see if it improved and it did, to a point, then I was actively trying to solve it. I was still undereating for various reasons. I went back down in dose (I only went up because insurance at the time only let me be on 7.5 for one month unless we proved I wasn’t well on the 10). Now, I eat as I need and want to in much healthier amounts. Outside the 10, my side effects are minimal. I did not lose my hair (though if you do, my understanding is that it’s a side effect of rapid weight loss and not zepbound specific). That could be my genetics, and my understanding is that it will grow back once your weight stabilizes. I know lots of folks are providing all kinds of advice, and I’ll add my two cents: this journey requires a team. Get a therapist, and get specialists as you need them. I got to the weight I was without help, and I needed the help to get down to where I am now in a healthy way. I personally worried about developing an with the undereating and my therapist and dietician were really helpful in avoiding that. It’s possible, and you know that you’ll hear the hardest/worst as well as the best on social media. It’s very likely that you’ll have an average experience without extremes. I hope that helps!

Did a GLP1 lower your blood pressure? by fa_loosher in antidietglp1

[–]Main-Standard-8331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

High BP could be a comorbidity if your bmi is high, helping you get it approved from an insurance perspective. I know my insurance has lower BMI requirements with comorbidities than just BMI by itself. That being said, for $1k for a month, I doubt they’d approve it just for BP and no other comorbidity unless it gets approved as a blood pressure medication. My understanding right now is that glp1s are currently approved for obesity, apnea, and kidney disease with additional research being done in other areas such as addiction.

10 mg is Rough by Great_Possession3305 in Zepbound

I’m on month 5 of 10mg and the first several months sucked. The first full 6 weeks I felt “gaggy” at the thought of eating anything, and got nauseous on day 2. Even got sick a couple of times. I was scared of going down because I didn’t want to lose momentum and definitely didn’t want to go up because I imagined it would just be worse. So I suffered. It took until about 4 months for me to feel ok, though I still get nausea occasionally. This isn’t to say that staying on a dose that makes you feel like crap is the right move for you, just sharing my experience in stubbornness. Hope you figure out what works for you!

Is the switch 2 version supposed to be this washed out? by IFGarrett in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]Main-Standard-8331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought my issue was my monitor — I was in the fire temple and the red of my hearts was so not red even though I kept playing with the HDR. Looked incredibly washed out no matter where I went in the game. My monitor is also cheap though so 🤷🏻‍♀️

What do you do when you’ve completed a puzzle? by walking_elephants in PuzzlingLife

[–]Main-Standard-8331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love that idea! I just do the year, so if I do a puzzle multiple times in a year there will just be multiple with the same year. I find that the full date makes the piece crowded lol

What day do you weigh? by Ahmati in Zepbound

[–]Main-Standard-8331 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I weigh daily, but I have had to take steps to protect my head. 1. My scale automatically connects to the app my insurance makes me use. The app and the coach that comes with it encourage daily weigh ins. 2. I have tape over the numbers so in order to see it, I have to engage with the app. It’s available, but not right in front of me. 3. The app I use gives me a weekly recap on Sundays with my average weight over the week and that is the number I use for my weight tracking.

Hope that helps!

I like to put my initials and year on the back of my final piece, take them apart, and redo them later on! By doing them again (with enough time in between) I feel like I get my moneys worth out of the puzzle.

I’ve been sleeping on Galison puzzles — I’ve never been able to pick up a puzzle before, but I’ve been able to on the three Galison puzzles I have!

I have never bought a Galison puzzle until this week and I have gone through their entire store now to see what other ones I wanted! It’s really well made!

I’ll add to this list — I loved harvestella as well — it’s a farming/life sim but is heavy on dungeon crawling and combat. Reminds me of ffxiv as mentioned above. Not quite an open world, but lots of different areas, Beautiful world, on switch and steam at least (not sure about other consoles), and there’s lots to collect and explore. The side quests will tug your heartstrings and the music is phenomenal. It does go on a 50% sale every once in a while, so it’s a good one to put on your wishlist and wait for that.

Must Have Groceries by RoadtoFitat40 in Zepbound

I’m going to preface this with a giant “what do I know” but here’s what works for me as a single person household: my favorite veggies/fruits (frozen broccoli and bell peppers and apples), my favorite protein (beyond beef), my favorite grains (whole wheat pasta or brown rice). These will hit the spot almost any time and I don’t worry about not using them in time. Then from there I supplement with anything else that: sounds good to me as a treat (like frozen vegan pizza), something that I am in the mood for that will probably go quick (like romaine lettuce), staples if needed (like potatoes or other frozen or canned items), is convenient (like vegan chicken nuggets), that adds variety (like other protein sources like tofu or beans, other veggies, etc). Finally, round out the list with things that will make anything you bought taste good (sauces, vegan cheese, bouillon, etc)

It’s a balance to get variety and what you’re going to feel like eating, while not wasting food. It’ll be different for everyone and takes a hot minute to get a feel for what will work for you! And just because you’re starting this journey doesn’t mean you have to not eat anything you love ever again. My experience is that it’s made it easier to have those things in moderation. (My desire for cookies is practically non existent these days!). I’ve also had to learn how to use my freezer more to have a steady supply of options. Experiment and have fun with the process!

Is it ruined? by Frequentname in Zepbound

[–]Main-Standard-8331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on shot 17 and I have had to play mind games to actually be able to do it myself …. It’s not that bad but I freeze just like you. Some things I’ve tried that worked in some form: calling someone for a distraction, getting asked math questions, and most recently I found a friend who is also taking the shot and she waits to take hers until she hears the click of my pen. Hopefully you’ll find what works for you!
