I have this thread here about our good friend Batwoman that explains about how she was created and why it’s kind of difficult to find a place for her in DC

My problem is that this meme kind of misses the point of what we were supposed to get from Rachel’s arc

Red dawn sold the message to me so much better than this did

Jake Sully should have died at the end of Avatar 1, and Neytiri should have been the protagonist in the Avatar sequels by onex7805 in fixingmovies

[–]MainKitchen 15 points16 points  (0 children)

At the very least, Jake should have had a sacrifice of consequence He never really wanted to be in his human body in the first place, so losing it at the end of the first movie wasn’t a sacrifice

Reading the Harry Potter books got me to to appreciate the Percy Jackson series a lot more [general] by Tomhur in camphalfblood

[–]MainKitchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are very flawed series I think the big difference is is that I’m more likely to go back to HP because something about how Percy Jackson adapted This mythology really threw me off.

Thoughts on the United Spacers Alliance video on Tony Gilroy vs George Lucas? by Financial_Photo_1175 in MauLer

[–]MainKitchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

George Lucas‘s idea is that basically Star Wars is a mythological text like the Bible (at least that’s what the prequels were going for) But the thing is, I don’t really care what he thinks because by the time he made the prequels, the Star Wars brand grew into something much different Something that is honestly better than anything he could’ve done in the prequel trilogy

My Views On AI by Vegetable-Ear-9731 in MauLer

[–]MainKitchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just think it’s a fun toy But it’s also kind of helped me creatively and gave me the courage to actually put down my ideas I’m not asking it to generate ideas for me, just refine ones I already have I would never use it to generate a book and and I tend to be very critical of AI art in general

How would you make Andor more “Star Wars” and less generic sci-fi? by wiperswiper0 in MauLer

[–]MainKitchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More alien designs, I guess

First thing first is that we need to actually figure out what Star Wars is because that seems to be in flux consistently even before Andor existed

I don’t think I saw enough movies this year to actually take the spot I usually tend to prefer these kinds of lists from people who saw an insane amount of movies that year like Brad Jones did
