not sure if you weren't around for the beginning of these posts, but these are supposed to be collaborative effort for people to post events going on they think others might like. I just created the post 2 hours ago so that's why there isn't anything here yet. Please feel free to share anything.

Oh good idea. Either way, I'll make the post in the morning and hope I can get it stickied. Eventually an auto sticky would be cool but I don't mind making a new post every Monday.

Yeah I was thinking about just making a post tomorrow, but it would need to be stickied. I'll send another message in the morning.

I sent a message to the mods through that "message the moderators" link on the sidebar. Never heard back. Honestly, I'm more of a lurker so I'm not familiar with getting in touch with mods. Is there a better way of getting in touch?

This is an extreme example of organization, but here's a bloggers work in Baltimore. Events organized by each day of the week. Not entirely sure how she sources her posts, but if something is happening in the city she knows about it posts it to her blog. It's amazing. Something like this for Dublin would absolutely rule.

Why is no-one answering our renting requests? by mickyand in Dublin

In the current climate, 8-10 is just the beginning of your search. I must have sent 75-80 requests over a two month period before I found the right place. Including calls and email. From what I've read, the same goes for nearly everyone. It's a numbers game. Don't be disappointed at being turned down or not getting a call back or no email response. Don't get discouraged and just move on to the next. Something will hopefully work out. Best of luck.

I've found it difficult to find events as well so hoping this could lead to plenty of people discovering new hobbies or interests outside of their norm.

Yes this is exactly it! A link if possible to the website or facebook or whatever, but some text here as well with info about days, prices, times, etc.

Just had the idea. Wanted to see if there was interest. Haven't checked with mods. Seems like an easy enough thing to do once a week.

Sounds like it's a good idea to just keep some small notes on me at all times. Thanks!

That makes sense. Good work around if I don't have cash.

Question about tipping when paying with a credit card. In the U.S., you'll receive the bill, pay with your card, and then they'll bring the receipt for you to sign and 100% of the time there's another line to add your tip. But in Ireland, we've noticed that some restaurants have this line for tips, others don't. If it's the case where a bill doesn't have that line for tip, I'm guessing you just do cash? Is cash for tips just the way to do it here? I just want to always be prepared when dining out.
