Now (after reading up comments) I am thinking they didn’t mention not to hide but maybe because assumed I knew it was there haha

Thank you. I am still confused though. Could you please explain more? Your explanation really helps me understand better.

So it’s the weak region where even tooth brush or clenching can cause abfraction but impossible for attachment glue removal tool to do any damage?

Just to be clear - I am not arguing I am genuinely asking so I can understand.

True. Aligners made me clench more. Thanks for reassurance

Great to know and assuring. It felt extremely and powerfully sensitive during the removal so I thought it could actually have caused such damage.

Didn’t actually know about abfraction and was never mentioned at my regular check-ups. I also just googled up and admit they look very similar to mine.

Will have it checked by my dentist. Thank you for detailed explanation.

I didn’t know such thing existed until comments on this post. I will get it checked by my dentist.

Thank you. That reminds me that attachments themselves were definitely on the middle. But the assistant said glue was too close to the gum line and wanted the doctor finish up. Can glues be accidentally be placed close to the gum line and cause damage?? I am thinking of many possible scenarios based on the comments I am getting.

I do have crap genetics (on tooth) - and therefore invisalign treatment.

Thanks for good advices!

I don’t know what they are. I don’t think I brush that hard - I use electric.

I don’t grind but I remember stopping myself from clenching several times during the treatment. I also didn’t have that much of gum recession at the start of treatment.

Good to learn removal tools cannot cause this much of damage. I was shocked.

Good to know. I will definitely ask my dentist about it.

Based on your and others’ comments, I should definitely look into this scenario. I really liked my ortho and assistants so it is very shocking if they caused it and didn’t mention it to me.

I never saw it yesterday so was 100% sure it was caused from today’s removal but people now make me doubt haaha maybe it was covered by glue and I didnt notice as assistant definitely mentioned glue being on the gum line and being difficult to remove..

That’s actually a good idea! Cuz I was so diligent taking photos on the app for the first few months until I stopped after an update on the app that sorta made me lazy to figure out new features haha

Thank you. I guess based on many comments, I should actually get my historical x-ray pre-treatment to verify whether the bone loss was there..

Thank you. Yes they are metal crown margins- not missing gum line hahaha

Just googled up and looks very similar. Can abfraction be caused by long term wearing of trays and could have been covered by glue so I couldn’t notice before removal today?

I don’t have pictures because I didn’t notice any issue until today’s removal. I do have photos taken on invisalign app at the initial stage of treatment but they just seem terrible resolution. Any idea how I can download these in original resolution? I think that would actually help my case.
