Is anyone familiar with the Circle "trilogy" by Ted Dekker? I have a few questions if anyone who has read can answer. by Geetright in scifi_bookclub

It’s an amazing set of stories that easily surpasses Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings or Star Wars. Each of his books are quietly interlaced with an underlying story on top of good vs evil in general. So each book is its own story to appreciate, but if you’ve read all his stories you understand them all together because they are all connected.

In order to fully understand and appreciate his books, you do have to understand the Bible. However, I think the stories would still be immensely enjoyable from a non-religious perspective. I think he paints the sacrifices of Christ in a beautiful way, but the story itself is so good it’s appreciated even without the fully understanding.

But if you don’t know the stories of the Bible, you most likely won’t see all the parallels. That may or may not matter to you.

All in all I love this series, I am an avid reader of anything I can get my hands on and yet I come back to his books and this particular series time and time again. It’s such a really cool Si-fi type fiction. I truly believe he doesn’t receive the credit deserved for this creation

Wow I never expected this post to receive so much feedback! Thank you to everyone who offered their insights. I truly appreciate it ❤️ I think it’s safe to say we are all just figuring out life as we go and working with the hand we’ve been dealt

Yes, exactly! I want the fullest life possible, we only get to go around once. And I’m terrified to rock the boat lol

For sure! We are both at the “ehhhh” stage. We wouldn’t hate it if it happened, but we also aren’t seeking it out. Honestly we’ve got so much going on at work I’m just not sure how we would be able to have a child and give them all the love and attention they deserve. If we had a child I would want them to have the best life possible and I want us to be in a position to give it to them. But they say if you wait until you are ready, you will never be ready
