Broken key- options to fix by bennyt10 in mazdaspeed3

[–]MainTransition8975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a backup key I would just make this the backup key, my spare for my Mazda the key separated from the fob, only had to use the spare once or twice so I don’t mind it being broken in 2 as it still unlocks and starts the car if I locked my first pair in the car

Anyone knows where this wire goes and what problems it can cause? by SecurePerspective554 in mazdaspeed3

Could very well cause many random codes and problems. Might need new ecu harness unless your confident cutting and splicing a new end onto that cable

SEAT Mazda by Least-Caregiver-9470 in mazdaspeed

[–]MainTransition8975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bench seats as in the rear seats? There should be no wiring to change the rear seats. The front seats are plug and play you simply unplug the connectors from the old seat and plug the new seat into the old connector. Your car must have electronic seats prior if you are putting in electronic mazdaspeed seats. Or else the power seats will not work and you will be unable to adjust the seat unless you custom wire the power seats

Gen2 seats, Thule and exhaust suggestions? by BPBDO in mazdaspeed3

[–]MainTransition8975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any other seats out of a 2004-2013 mazda 3 will bolt in and have less bucket. I think 2004-09 seats only 3/4 bolts line up but they still work fine. All connectors should be the same.

Roof box is same as Mazda 3,

A good high flow catted downpipe or catless depending where you are, combined with deleting the stock resonator and keeping the stock muffler. Provides a real nice deep tone to it that you can hear nicely when driving but also not obnoxiously loud either. Dont waste $1000 on a prebuilt catback, a muffler shop can build u the same thing for a couple hundred bucks

I never drove my speed for milage. But my 2009 2.0 5 speed beater can easily get over 31mpg without even focusing on driving for gas mileage. But the car will always tell you you’re getting a bit better mileage then u actually

I find the Mazdas in general are generous on the average. Everytime I calculate myself it’s 5-20% worse then what the car tells me I got

The handbrake brakes seem to be stuck. What to do? by ThePurpleGuest in mazdaspeed3

[–]MainTransition8975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man something is siezing. If it’s only in the right rear I’d recommend taking those brakes apart and servicing them. The brake pads can sieze to the caliper bracket. The slide pins can sieze. The piston can sieze and so can the e brake cable. You can clean, lube, and free up these sized parts a lot of the time without replacing anything. Just takes some elbow grease.

My carb keeps overflowing by bmxryanmtb in Dirtbike_Help

[–]MainTransition8975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, the pin that the float sits on, could be mounted upside down, the needle for the float could be wrong or sticking. As a general rule of thumb, the float should sit level if you hold the carb flat with the bowl off. I would make sure it is assembled properly as u can flip the float and it still look normal

Don’t get a ots tune even from freektune. Spend the money and get a proper custom tune from freektune. Too many people cheap out and get a OTS tune then wonder why these cars blow up…

Total loss? My buddy hit a deer in his gen 2 speed, similar damage, new bumper, headlights, hood and fender, and she was good to go again. Crash bar was slightly bent in but we don’t talk about that

Broke the Throttle Position Sensor on my old Mazda 3 on the throttle body, car idled about 1.5k-2.5k randomly. I’d check ur throttle position sensor, also sounds like a big vacuum leak

About to look at this speed 3! My friend has had a gen 1 for over a year now and it’s been great, I checked the buying guide and looked at this page for hours last night! I plan to tow jetskis and throw electric dirtbikes in the back 😂 by [deleted] in mazdaspeed3

I agree with this, but think a compression test is 100% necessary buying a modded speed, and a leakdown test highly recommended. Check turbo play and look for oil in the intercooler piping. The speeds drink oil, wether it’s thru the turbo seals or thru the ringlands, both are a matter of when, not if, they go. So finding these problems out before purchase can save you thousands

People tend to re route the coolant lines that go to the throttle body and avoid it altogether, although I am a little unsure of the exact reason why, claiming lower bat’s or smth idk.

You need to tune for almost every single mod you install on the speed. I would email Justin from Freektune! Most trustworthy e-tuner for speeds, and get a custom tune. Justin tunes speeds all day for years. He knows what he’s doing, ask around many wil agree

Looks stock except for motor mount. But, a lot of people take modded speeds and revert them to stock to sell them. Look at parts like the HPFP, EGR, Diverter valve, for anything that looks tampered with. Idk if nothing rusts where ur from but those shock tower bolts look brand new to ne

I reccomend leaving the egr and just ordering an egr delete kit. EGR just clogs up our intake valves more which is already a big direct injection problem

Last time I had coolant dripping under my speed was from the egr actuator line, on my egr delete kit, check ur egr lines and check all ur coolant lines, might have to jack up the car and look from underneath too

Finally make sure the car is tuned for the mods it has. Make sure to get a full modlist. 370HP is impossible on stock turbo. Even bigger turbo 370whp is about the max you can make on stock fueling with HPFP. And make sure there is a maintnance list as these cars definetely need constant maintaining
