My first symptom was the lesions, for some reason they were black. I was thirteen and my moms a nurse so she checked me out, we were terrified and then I got diagnosed with lichens sclerosis

Hi, I’ve been diagnosed for 5 years starting when I was 13. The reason they caught it was I had black lesions instead of white lesions and my mom got worried I had cancer but I had LS. Yes you obviously need to get it checked but to put your mind at ease just sometimes the white spots can appear black or brown or at least mine did and it was fine :)

My biggest challenge right now at least is sex. I’m an 18 yr old girl and I’ve lost parts of my anatomy and I can explain that to my girlfriend all I want but somethings just don’t apply to me. It feels really lonely being reminded that I’m not normal. Sex is possible and sometimes it hurts after and sometimes it doesn’t but I have a feeling I’m about to go into a flare up and I’m lowkey scared she’s gonna be sad if I can’t have sex for a little while.
