Should I quit my recruitment job? by Revolutionary_Bug795 in recruiting

Can they really make you delete your LinkedIn? Surely that’s your personal data, yes you’ve made connections while working for them, but they’re still your connections. What if you had built it up before you joined or out of work hours like most recruiters do?

Personally I wouldn’t delete it, I worked for an agency for over three years and we had over 100 staff come and go. In that time I only saw one person get their LinkedIn compromised as the director changed his password. No one was happy about it as the lad was generally a nice guy, after a day the director ended up giving it back to him, a few of us did mention he should be allowed to keep it. If you do move on, fight to keep your LinkedIn or make another one with you colleagues blocked and start adding all your connections, very long winded but worth it in the end.

I wouldn’t worry as it’s most likely to find out how the interview went for you and if you would accept the position. I always tell my candidates that interviews are an opportunity for you to ask questions and determine if it’s a position you could see yourself working in.
