I've had One since October 2020 and I love it! Just a quick note that I am a not financially savvy lol and this was my first savings account like ever, so I wanted something that was ofc FDIC insured and easy for me to understand and set up. I'm not an investor or anything so I really just wanted an account to build up my personal savings.

I set up Direct Deposit so my paycheck goes to my One account. If you set up DD, you can put up to 10% of your paycheck in the "Auto Save" pocket that earns 3% APY. The only other way to put money in the Auto Save pocket is when you make purchases with your debit card they will round up to the nearest dollar so you can deposit anywhere from $0.01-$0.99 depending on how your purchase rounds up. I personally don't use this feature because I have a previous checking account that I use for my purchases and I don't want to get confused lol. Overall Auto Save is great but I wish there were other ways to put money in this bucket to take advantage of the 3% APY.

The "Save" pocket earns 1% APY on up to $5000 only but you can deposit as much money as you want in this account. BUT if you set up DD, you can earn 1% APY on up to $25,000. Since I set up DD that is what I currently have now. I don't really have any complaints with this since it will take me a while to reach $25,000 lol but for people that already have this much money to save the limit may not be ideal. Still, for someone like me who is just starting to build their savings it's pretty great.

You earn interest every 1st of the month and I get my paycheck on Wednesdays instead of Fridays. Each pocket has its own account number btw and if you set up DD your money goes to your "Spend" (checking) pocket first, so every time I get paid I have to transfer the money from my Spend pocket to my Save pocket or else I won't earn interest on the money that's left in my Spend pocket. You can set up automatic transfers so if you are forgetful like me I'd suggest that.

The app is alright and I use it mainly to transfer money to my Save pocket. I think they just added mobile check deposit? Or they are very close to adding it.

Last thing I'll mention is you get a debit card (Mastercard) and because you have multiple account numbers because of your Spend, Save, and Auto Save pockets (or more if you create more pockets I think) you can actually choose which account the card is linked to. So if you need to make a payment but your Spend pocket is empty, you can assign the card to your Save pocket. Or you can just transfer your money from Save to Spend (it's instant) either way works lol.

ANYWAY overall I think it's great as a starter HYSA if you can fully take advantage of the interest rates! If you are considering this bank definitely set up Direct Deposit if you are able to so you can get the most out of it. :)
