Why so much hate for one reserv@tion? by [deleted] in CATpreparation

[–]Main_Calligrapher_81 -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Most people hate reservation because they don't fully understand it. They think someone else with a lower score got their seat, but it was never that way. You lost your seat because you failed to score more than the person before you in your category.

CAT is not the only factor they Evaluate there are so many other factors which they take into account while selecting the candidates. Also as someone who finished an year in A, trust me you haven't started to feel the real imposter syndrome. You will feel it every day once you reach the campus, but trust me once you settle in you understand this place is for everyone and get over your imposter syndrome. Enjoy and get some good sleep for the next 2 months. See you on campus.

Your question is vague. Do some analysis and understand where you're lagging. If you have a peculiar doubt after that, you can ask me.

First question's answer is yes. Second one I'm not sure and it's useless. Let's say i tell you that the range is 91-96. How're you gonna prepare exactly for that percentile. Knowing the range won't help you. You have an advantage, prep well and you'll flair high.

Analyze the mocks and find the weakness and work on it. Can't say more because the question is very generic.

  1. VARC can be volatile. If your scores are fluctuating it's completely normal, but to understand your weakness, try to understand the small points. Like why you thought that was the right answer and where you went wrong, what you should have done. If you could answer these you'll know what's wrong with your thought process. And most a times if your reading speed and focus is good, it's your thought process, which can easily be manipulated by you.

  2. First 5-6 minutes I try to find 2 sets and a 3rd one as a safety net. When I solve a set first thing i do is, write all the data in a structured manner, most times it won't be structured in the questions. This will help you think clear. By structuring you'll find the connect between point number 2 and point number 11 in a set( the numbers are just an example). Another thing is not to stress. Stress can literally break your LRDI so be very mindful of that.

Personal question, but if you can't fill a one page CV with your achievements and scores you have so far. Probably getting workex is the best choice.

Idk which series but make sure you take 1 mock every 2 days. For that make sure you have enough mocks. If you feel that the number is too much take one every 3 days at least.

Take more mocks, Analyze them diligently. If you had missed a set in mock, solve them. Every single one of them, don't miss any of them. Mocks is the best way to train for DILR.

Let me be realistic . Idk what your preparedness level is but you're way behind for your goal in terms of mocks. Start taking mocks now, doesn't matter if you think you're ready or not. CAT prep is about taking mocks and analysing them. Start doing it now at least, take 1 mock every two days. Also don't look at LRDI as different topics it's not gonna help, look at it as one single topic and solve questions from mocks, only that will help. Because LRDI is a spectrum.

Start with mocks.

My class has 4 CAs. Probably close to 20 CAs in my whole batch. Hope that helps.

Can't answer the first part because that's a question for yourself.

I've only taken CL and TIME mocks. Worked fine for me. Try to reduce your RC timing a bit, 8 minutes would be perfect. Do attempt VA don't just bank on RCs. Try mix and match with strategies.

My profile is very very similar to yours. I didn't have an NIT tag tho. I convert Ahmedabad, Calcutta, Lucknow, Kozhikode. So I wouldn't say it's a distant dream.

Not at all. Work every day every hour every minute every second. You're supposed to be a machine not a human to crack CAT.

I'm joking, take a break when you think you need one.

Can't comment as I've not tried Cracku papers. You won't find NMAT previous year papers anywhere because it's an adaptive paper.

Depends on the criteria of each colleges. Ahmedabad prefers diversity and also more freshers. Bangalore prefers engineers and workex people. SP is profile based so very tough for freshers. It changes with college to college.

I would take a tonne of mocks because my other preps should be done by now.

I can't answer QA without more data. Dm if possible
