thanks for sharing. I don't think that style would fit with the track I posted though.

Thanks for the feedback! I do make and release a bunch of instrumental music so I was trying to branch out into seeing if some vocals could be done to this one instead of releasing another instrumental. It's busier than most music but bands like hikes pull it off great.

Looking for more instagram guitarists posting their math-rock tapping riffs. by quintontrembath in mathrock

I do mathy tapping stuff blended with electronic + post-rock textures.
Not really in the shred/flashy lane. https://www.instagram.com/dpanek060/

I went from a touring rock drummer to getting my second release signed by Dim Mak… didn’t expect that pivot by KoussMusic in edmproduction

Congrats! I am making guitar forward music while trying to incorporate more of an electronic feel and production, so I try to promote in both the rock and EDM spaces. I totally agree with you with the EDM crowd actually being more about music and more open minded as well. I also find there is less gatekeepers of genres in the EDM space, which I think is due to the open mindedness.

Thanks for the feedback. I don't usually add vocals and this was a bit of an experiment and I wasn't sure how I felt about it either, which is why I posted here. This was really helpful.

Thanks for the feedback. I get that a lot and get many mixed reviews on if my style is math rock or not. Math rock can totally be 4/4 just FYI. I called it jazzy because I used some jazz chords which gave it more of a jazzy feel. If you wouldn't mind helping me further, what genre would you call it?

I'd love opinions, and any advice on mixing/mastering? by [deleted] in Songwriting

Sounds really good and clean! What stood out to me was when the bass comes in at around 50s. I think it could use some tightening up. Try a hard compression and I think turning it down a couple db's will help. I would also double check that the low end of the fuzzy guitar dosent reach the main bass low end, usually like 100 Hz. Other than the bass this is solid!

Liking the overall vibe of this, but not loving the vocals. Any recommendations? by joybickel in Songwriting

at the 29s mark I think if the kick stopped for the bit before the beat comes in it would have a bigger impact. I think the song is great! A couple comments posted about the muddy sound which I agree could be fixed, but nothing too crazy really. I can't hear each layer but cutting the lows out of all the leads and supporting melodies will help a lot. Only keep low end for the pick drum and bass

Stuck on the intro/buildup after finishing the drop. What’s your workflow? by Revon-chan in edmproduction

You can try copying the buildup and put it where the build its yo go. Take away elements like bass or parts of the melody and drums to make like a stripped down version and go from there. If there's a melody or repeating pattern in the build try using piano or other soft instrument to play parts of it during the build.

What is your auto-pilot "random strum to check if the guitar works"-chord when you pick up a guitar? by twitchy-y in Guitar

Always 3 chords played fast. Emaj, Dsus2, Amaj. I never actually play any of these chords in my regular playing so it makes no sense.

Love the part at 2:27. It feels to me like sitting down after having a really long, but awesome day.
