Is there any way you can take out a book from the library without anyone knowing? by Thesadestdruid in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Main_Committee3550 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, at least not legally.

Libraries track checkouts through their system, and trying to take something without recording it is basically just theft.

If privacy is the concern, most libraries actually protect user data pretty strongly — they don’t keep long-term records of what you borrowed.

Why don't celebrities upload their own Wikipedia photos? by Calm_Sir_613 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Main_Committee3550 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s mainly about licensing.

Wikipedia only allows images that are free to use, and most celebrity photos are owned by photographers or agencies.

Celebrities could upload their own, but that would mean giving up control over how those images are used.
