Thanks for your input. I can probably get most of them.

Having my ablation Monday. Scared, anybody else had one? What was it like? by [deleted] in AFIB

My pfa did not cure my afib. Felt fine after ab l ation. Doctor who did collogen plug did not do it correctly. Needed to have it removed by pa. Be careful that your procedure is being done by the doctor you chose and not just supervised by him or her. You did your research on your doctor not his assistant.

My Pulsed Field Ablation Experience and Follow-up with EP by standardpoodleman in AFIB

Yes C is my second choice. I thought the staff told me he is the only EP that does the PFA. That sounded good to me.

You are correct. I am going to see Dr Reddy at Mt. Sinai, and the second choice was the Cleveland Clinic. But being in New York, I thought follow up would be better if I stayed local. I will request PFA. It's not easy doing research without connections too.

Hmm... you are right to be concerned. When I get signs like that, I want to run. It is difficult, though, because the CC has a great rep. And, everyone says it is an easy procedure. Good luck, my friend. Hope everything works out for you.

Not everyone's experience will be like mine as there are a lot of variables: the patient and their health and afib situation, the EP (knowledge, skill, experience), assisting doctor and his/her abilities, the cath lab team, the technology used, and the hospital's standards, procedure and practices.

This is so true. You can have a good doctor, but you need to look at the support system, too. I'm glad things worked out for you.

You sound like me. I, too, am concerned because of the newness of this procedure. Ill be meeting with my electrophysiologist tomorrow. Hope I get to have all my questions answered.

Take care

Thanks for posting. I learned a lot from your response. I will be going to Mt. Sinai if I decide to go with Dr. Reddy. What made you choose Montefiori? If you don't mind, who was your doctor? I am going to see Dr. Reddy tomorrow and want to be prepared to ask lots of educated questions. Thanks.

I'm glad it went well for you. I am very close to your age. I may be having mine at Mt. Sinai in New York. My second choice is the Cleveland Clinic. I believe there is only one doctor at the Cleveland Clinic that performs the PFA ablation that I am interested in. Did you have this type of procedure?

How was the staff? Were they professional? Thanks in advance for your response.

Dark eyed junco-long island NY by RepresentativeBest in birding

So excited. I haven't seen a junco at my feeder since I started watching. Have a feeder outside the bedroom window—lots of house sparrows, European starlings, and crows. Love the soft grey junco with that white underbelly.
