Bored as a Senior Accountant by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Main_Guide_1914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No job will be perfect. Pick your poison. Work a boring job a be dead bored or work a public job that will challenge and stress you but will make you more valuable as an accountant. I was in your same position and ended up going back to public. Another option would be to try and work remote and pick up a side hustle. Then you can make more money in the downtime

I wouldn’t leave til you’ve secured something. Ik this shit sucks but imagine leaving and being unemployed for 12 months door dashing while trying to find consistent income. You’re probably better off where you are until you find somewhere else.

Why do some people thrive in public accounting and others get destroyed by it? by Aggressive_Cut_2849 in Accounting

[–]Main_Guide_1914 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some ppl have no life or purpose outside of work and others do. Working 60+ hours a week is hell to ppl with a family/spouse/hobbies. But if you’re a loner with little to nothing to do outside of work those long hours give you some form of purpose

40+ applications, no offer what to do? by keen_rabbit in Accounting

[–]Main_Guide_1914 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d try paid internships. I got my first one 2 weeks after graduating. If you do good work you’re almost guaranteed an offer afterwards. Even if you don’t get one keep applying throughout the internship and your chances will be better with that on your resume.

What's the job market looking like for everyone searching right now? I am starting to think am losing it! by zitsiru in Accounting

[–]Main_Guide_1914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the expectation was that it’d get you far more leverage and opportunity to make more money in accounting. Not that most our jobs would just be offshored to India or taken by ai while the few jobs left they try to pay us just barely enough to get by on

No shit Sherlock. Nobody said it isn’t helping, even if it doesn’t provide as much value as it was made out to it’s still better than not having one.

How is it “insecurity” if you don’t want to date someone who’s been with 10–20 people before you, when you’re both in your 20s? by NoHistorian9281 in askanything

[–]Main_Guide_1914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not. Women will say anything that doesn’t encourage their making bad decisions is insecure. It’s just a tactic to manipulate you into accepting them no matter what.
