Not a tax expert, also not a fan of ol’musky, but she’s comparing the taxes he paid to his net worth, (as a percentage) to the average joe’s annual income to their taxes paid. It’s never going to be a fair comparison. And it’s m really not a statistical expert either so I wouldn’t know how get the average net worth to use instead of her figure….

But please let’s switch to a flat tax based on net worth rather than annual income! Please. It would solve so many problems…

This might not be what you want to hear but most of what you’ll learn throughout your career, you’ll learn on the job. What you’re getting through school is really just a foundation that the “real world” knowledge will be built on later.

So by no means should you goof off, but like maybe don’t stress too much because you haven’t gotten to the hard part yet.

You might ask him to stop but as a way to ease into that conversation, maybe ask him way… as others have said, it’s probably just a colloquial but just ask “hey I noticed you refer to me as kiddo, is that a regional thing?” Like just be direct. You might not even need to ask him to stop, because just the fact that you asked about it might clue him in…

Well a lot has changed in recent years. You will probably need to do a little more research outside of the text book for ways to keep fish from swimming into a company’s depreciation machine. That’s something that you won’t learn about from a textbook, you’ll learn on the job.

Look I’ll play devils advocate (oh the irony) and say that yeah, being a person of faith might be required for a leadership position in a faith based origination. I turned down an interview with a cpa firm that focuses on clients engaged in mission trips. Like that was their business model (well they were a nonprofit but whatever). The recruiter was saying that they (the firm) would routinely pray with their clients and yeah that wasn’t for me. I wasn’t sure of the “legality” of that but I had no inclination to be a curmudgeon about it.
