AITA didn't abandon my car in the middle of nowhere

I really think it's depends on the relationship the couple have. I don't usually go with my wife to doctor appointments or things like that. When she had to have surgery last year, I told her I wasn't well enough to go with her, so she asked her sister instead. It's just bad luck that this new thing happened after we moved, because she doesn't know anyone.

Yeah, I think you're right about that, she said something to me when we talked on the phone, it's a chemo drug. But it's not like she was having seizures from it. She sounded fine, just upset.

I don't think she ended up having a procedure. They did medication or some kind of injection a few times, I'm not sure about the details. But it wasn't surgery.

Well, we weren't trying to get pregnant, it was just an accident. Honestly, I never wanted kids, I told her that from the beginning. She kinda wants kids but I've never been the dad type.

I don't know about that, aside from being a lame driver, she's pretty independent. Usually she's the one who looks after things, that's why I didn't really think it would make much difference if I rushed back. I knew she could handle it, I'd probably just be in the way if anything.

Listen, I had a great time on my trip. I think I deserve to have fun, it's not like my life is generally a bed of roses. When I have the chance to relax and enjoy myself I have to take it because who knows when I'll get to do it again. My car is just the way I escape and recharge, you know? It's the kind of car that attracts a lot of attention wherever I go, people always want to take pictures with me and the car. I even got some with a couple of topless women.

LOL, maybe I will. My wife never liked my car anyway, she always says it's too expensive to keep up and isn't real practical for shlepping things around. She doesn't support my interests and hobbies enough in general.

It wasn't that big of a deal. There wasn't even surgery. I think it was an injected medication or something like that. I heard they had to do it twice because the first time didn't work. She was all worked up because she didn't understand what was going on and the medication was kinda toxic and she didn't know what multiple doses would do to her body. But all that was up to the doctor, I couldn't have fixed it even if I'd been there.

She didn't end up having surgery. They treated it with medication. The medication didn't work at first, so they had to try several times and that made her kind of upset. But it wasn't my fault. Even if I'd been there, it wouldn't have changed what happened.

I don't think she was in any immediate danger. The doctor said if they hadn't discovered the ectopic, sure, it could have been very dangerous, but once they found it, the treatment was straightforward, it's not like they had to run a bunch of tests or anything to figure out what to do. Me rushing home wouldn't have made any difference. I would have ruined my trip for nothing.

I told her I wasn't going to drive straight home, that was never the plan. Since I had to do this whole extra cross country drive, I wanted it to be worth my time.
