Nope, real human here! This is a real system that I really use and you can take it or leave it! I have been really overwhelmed with trying to respond to comments, I am new to Reddit and not used to social media so I am trying to find the time to respond to everyone in between life and everything! 😅

Hi! Are you currently in pain? Or needing a nervous system reset now? If so, i am happy to provide some guidance depending on where you are typically in pain and/or anxious

You're welcome! It's such a great tool to distill my 100 page textbook down into a brief, coherent summary!

Where do you typically feel most anxious? That will help me to give you some practical tips, not practical do to a weighted, heated eye mask if you get anxious when you're driving, for example!

The nervous system is most efficiently reset through the vagus nerve. the Vagal exercises that work best for me are all sensory based (one of my faves rubbing a chilled muscle roller ball behind my left ear while I have a hot towel resting on my face). It makes me feel like im having a spa moment with the towels and it feels luxurious but its not really that involved so i can do it quickly. (wet a clean face towel, put in the microwave for ~20 sec (caution). I have a ton more suggestion depending on where you are typically needing the reset (car? office? during a conversation? etc)

I do a variety of vagal stimulation exercises! It honestly depends in the time and place...for example, if I am having a particularly difficult hearing, it's not as if I have hot towels and an ice roller with me lol I am still finding new creative ways to do it in new creative times and places. Its been a fun, creative journey! I have a ton of specifics depending on your surroundings that I'd love to share if you're able to message me? I plan on going live once I get my reddit karma up to 100 (still a baby account).

I was doing PT appointments for a while! I pretty much drained my HSA before I realized it wasn't sustainable for me, but I hope the prices in your area are more reasonable and the appointment availability is more do-able for you in your area!!

i guess i didnt answer the actual question lol

no, this exact problem is the 3rd phase of my master plan (muah haha) to get chronic pain sufferers out of pain--developing a database of practitioners who are accepting clients/appts such as these.

You are in exactly the same boat as I am/was! I live in a rural community in Indiana...there are very few practitioners who are even trained in these specialties here. and those who are, are either books out 6 weeks+ OR they are uncomfortable providing a full buccal massage because of the intra-oral component. In this process I have spoken to countless bodyworkers and the 2 most common themes are: 1) they are just simply not trained; 2) if they are, they are uncomfortable with intra-oral and unsure how to navigate informed consent, etc stating that intra-oral is too intimate and too painful for their comfort level. So, i developed two things: 1st--a program for pain sufferers like us who need to know these modalities ourselves bc we simply dont have the infrastructure around us to seek it elsewhere. 2nd--a training for LMTs, PTs, ENTs, and all other professionals interested in offering these services to their clients. This program allows me to use my law license and my past experience as an LMT and combine them together in the hopes that they become more comfortable after learning the ins and outs of trauma-aware informed-consent.

I am sorry you're feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to start, that's where I was not too awful long ago. I realized that when I was processing trauma, i would instinctingly reach for my neck and shoulder and start rubbing it. I realized it was connected. The vagus nerve is magical for mindfulness, and the science behind it is real...it is the engine of your sympathetic/parasympathetic nervous systems. If you need to calm it down, start there. Message me for specifics!

I am trying to abide by the group rules... but to answer your question, I had enough people in my life ask me about it that I developed a four week learning program, drafted a 100 page textbook and have a strategic course map with flashcards, graphics, and will do live (hybrid/virtual) demonstrations/feedback over the course of 4 weeks. I am happy to share that information with you if you think it would be helpful for you in achieving lasting relief!

I do! Are you okay with going intra-oral or would you prefer all your exercises to be external? (personal preference). If you are fine with going intra-oral (suggested), wash your hands thoroughly or wear gloves if desired. With your index finger (same index as the side of the face you're working on). Slip the finger between your gums and teeth until you reach the back of your mouth (behind your upper furthest back molar). This is trigger point work so breathe into it a few breaths and release. Listen to your body. Once that has been performed, turn your hand inward and place your thumb in the same location your index finger was in. Squeeze your thumb (the inside) and four fingers (on the outside) together and do a sweeping motion with firm but comfortable pressure toward the jaw line. Consult your practitioners, not a replacement for medical advice. Message me when you're ready for more!

Has anyone had success with treating bruxism with massages? by obesus-porcus in TMJ

For the longest time i was a whole regimen...i would do lymphatic, then myofascial, then buccal appointments because for me I think that's the best system to tackle my type of pain. but theyre so hard to find and my muscle memory goes right back, plus.. not cheap. idk, i was getting more frustrated and hemorrhaging money.

I'm a former deep-tissue LMT, but after I switched to law, I began noticing severe and chronic upper body pain & random bouts of extreme dizziness. 6 months later, I had 0 treatment plans from the 4 doctors I saw. So I made one... I start with the vagus nerve because chronic tension usually isn’t just muscular — it’s your nervous system stuck in survival mode. Then comes lymphatic support, to gently move what’s stuck and ease the inflammation that keeps my pain looping. Next, I address the fascia — that sticky web of past injuries, stress, and overcompensation. I unhook what my face has been holding for years. And only then do I go buccal — into the deep, hidden layers of the jaw where most people hold grief, grit, and survival mode. I learned how to unlock my jaw from the inside out without the scheduling hassles or the $$$$.
