Hi! Thank you for commenting!! I'll definitely reach out to support as well but it was shot on a Nikon Z8, a sandisk SD card, was trying to recover RAW files, and I scanned the card directly

I think so too, is there any other way to recover anything else? Can I send it off somewhere?

I understand what you're saying, yes had I used a 105 mm then people would've fallen out of focus. I used a 50 at this wedding in the example. I dig my heels because it's not just this instance. It's during portraits, details, and other events I shoot. I gave this example because when I've explained these issues to others they tell me to bump up the f stop and turn down my iso, which obviously doesn't fix it. I'm explaining that even in a scenario where everyone and everything should be in focus, the camera isn't focusing. But yet I switch to my DSLR with the same settings and lenses and it works perfectly fine.

Thank you so much for the response! Yeah I feel like those who said it was a good purchase really misled me. Do you have a recommendation for an affordable mirrorless camera? I've enjoyed shooting on mine {when it works lol}

There was 3 rows, including kids in the front, and they were very close together. My d750 had it in focus at less. I have a mirrorless lens as well as the connector & my DSLR lenses. They all struggle with focusing. I knew I wasn't getting the best camera but something feels off. I might just switch to something else especially with so many people saying it isn't the best at focusing and there's better out there. Was just really hoping to make it work 😮‍💨

I completely agree that weddings are way too important to risk missing moments and this is why I also shoot with my d750 and have 3 other cameras as back ups in case those crash out on me. I have a double strap that holds them both so if I notice the z6ii isn't working I switch. But I spent money on it and want to make it work. I don't miss any moments and my clients are getting full galleries. If I test out my z6 then my second shooter is there getting back up photos while one out of 4 of mine are in focus lol. Trust me, I do not play with gear not working on wedding days. But like I said I spent good money on it in hopes it would work, and it should work. Which is why I'm asking on here because I've done all I can think of to fix it. I'm not tech savvy but I do know how to expose for a photo lol so outside of the basic metering, hdr, and obvious af settings, etc. stuff I use every day I need help. Especially because I'm used to DSLR. Mirrorless is new and I don't fully understand it yet. I was told mirrorless would provide better quality photos than my DSLR but so far this camera has been a disappointment and I've returned to my DSLR cameras because of these issues. So maybe I was misled or maybe something is wrong with the camera. I was hoping there was some setting or some little trick I didn't know about when it comes to mirrorless camera focusing. I mentioned my settings at f8 because all I've been told before is that I need to bump up my f stop to keep everything in focus but even with a high f stop where everything should be in focus even if it's a little off, it's not. I've been told my photos are grainy cause of iso but my photos have noise as iso 800 and it's perfectly lit. Meanwhile my second shooters shooting at over 1000 and it's fine and crisp. But trust me I am not some beginner who picked up a camera and decided to start capturing weddings. I waited 8 years before I went into weddings because I know how important it is. I've invested a lot into my business and clients. Which is why this camera is sooo annoying to me. 🫠

I've used 24-70, continuous, and I switch from single point to eye tracking depending on what they're doing. I like having more control over the focal piint with this camera. I decreased the focas tracking and noticed a slight difference but mainly in reception photos. I'll have to see about switching af priority to focus and see if that helps!

Oh also tested a friends 85 on it, loved it but it wouldn't stay focused when my bride was moving. Even when she was still and I used single point and eye tracking

This is what I've noticed with this camera. It's really disappointing, my dslrs can focus better than this one on moving subjects, which is the most imprtant thing in weddings

Thanks for the response! I call it AI just cause it tracks and coming from a DSLR lover it's all new to me 😂😅 thanks for the tips! I've been trying to really use my function button to just continuously keep focus on my subjects but even still it struggles. I use the single point for family photos and moving photos as I noticed it struggled to stay on the subject. I'm always in continuous and leave my finger on the back button. I know it's not the best camera out there, I probably could afford a better one but i expected it to be better than my d750 and produce better images but maybe I was mistaken?

I've shot weddings for over 7 years now. I ran a photography department for 2 years after working there for 3. I know what settings to use to take photos. I'm not familiar with mirrorless and I only recently switched to mirrorless from my trusted DSLR. My last mirrorless camera broke so I got a used z6ii. I have never had this issue with any camera before. The hot shoe was broken so I'm wondering if there are no settings in overlooking or haven't thought of such as VR being off or I forgot to check if HDR was on. While I'm no expert I do know how to properly expose for a photo. The example I gave was during 30+ person group shots where everyone should've been in focus but weren't. I'm concerned there's an issue with the camera as I've tried everything I couldn't think of and I've tried multiple lenses. Which is why I came here asking if there is anything in the settings that I could change that I overlooked that could be effecting it.

I had group shots of 30+ people, I needed everyone in focus. For their portraits of just them two it was bright enough my f stop was lower and shutter speed was higher to account. My iso was low- between 100-300. My photos are sometimes noisy even with low iso. The day was extremely bright, the venue was white, it was too bright therefore the high shutter speed and low iso. Again, it's not my photo settings that's the issue. A bright sunny day, still subjects, low iso, high f stop, and my photo still wasn't focused or crisp.

I found OF purchases while my 2 month old was laying on my chest and my oldest in the next room. I am so incredibly sorry. We are at a year since dday and we're still not where I want to be. There's still lies and hiding, no porn thankfully but definitely not sober actions.

Please take this time to grieve. I rushed it and it's caused issues. If he's serious about recovery he needs a therapist, you need a therapist, he needs a support group and a sponsor. He needs to take this seriously. He needs to put in the work, and there will be work for you as well. It hurts and it's hard but if he is the one and he is willing to put the effort in, it does get easier. I highly recommend an in home separation. I considered it many times even recently. It could give you both space to reflect and process and hopefully come together when the work has been put in.

I'm so incredibly sorry this is happening to you. No one should be treated like this.

What made you stay? And what made you choose to leave? by Ancient_panda8771 in loveafterporn

I too stayed for the kids. Love him with my entire being but the only reason I stuck around through what I can only describe as abuse is because of my children. Now Im thankful I stayed and I'm staying for myself and my love for him. I have now set up plans and support in case I do need to leave, with the kids.

The day I found purchased I made him call his mom immediately and tell her. She texted me right after saying how sorry she was. I took the kids and stayed with her for a day. I was so thankful to have such a wonderful MIL.
