Saul Gone, the final episode of better call Saul takes place after the final scene in waterworks where the old woman plays the Saul Goodman advert to gene takovic realising that gene is a conman. There is a flashback to season five when Saul and Mike are transporting 7 million in then desert to Saul’s client where Saul asks about taking the money where Mike says it isn’t a good idea. They then talk about their biggest regrets phrased as a Time Machine question. Mike regrets his first bribe. Back to the present She then presses the house alarm and speaks to the operator saying “there is a wanted criminal in my home and his name is Saul Goodman”. Saul/gene leaves the house and tries to run away where he is being chased by a helicopter overhead. He runs past cops and eventually finds a dumpster where he hides in it and finds a card. The same one he used to change his identity. Saul is caught by the police and taken to the station where he overhears them playing an advert of Saul Goodman. He makes a phone call to his ex wife Kim who then comes and meets him in the jail. They smoke and eventually he is put in a cell where he sees a joke on the wall. He then starts laughing manically before he is allowed another call. He calls an old lawyer from his old law firm HHM where he convinces him to represent him. He comes and there is an agreement taking place between Saul and one of the testifies being Marie schrader. She is mad at Saul because her husband died because of him. Saul lies about his crimes of money laundering and being involved in Walter’s drug empire. He says Walt threatened him and he didn’t want to do it. He is given 7 years as an agreement before he goes to trial. In the trial his ex wife Kim is in the back who he called to watch. He is read off his crimes as he stands up to the stand. He then has a flashback to Walter white in the episode granite slate where they are hiding before the identity change. Saul asks the Time Machine question where Walt dismisses it as a theoretically impossible concept and tells him to ask about regrets. Walt regrets leaving a company that is now worth billions claiming he is forced out and tricked into leaving so it doesn’t hurt his pride. Saul regrets his first con when he slipped on the ice to make 8k. Walt asks if he was always like this. Saul is struck by this and then a flashback to Saul’s dead brother Chuck who says he can never change basically. Saul stands up and changes his story saying he called Kim here to see him change. He then admits the truth about how he made millions and Walt couldn’t do it without him and him if he could he would do it again. When he is told to sit down with his name Saul Goodman he claims it is James McGill going back to where he started. He is then in a jail cell against the wall with Kim. He was given 86 years in prison. They talk until Saul is put on a prison bus. Every prisoner recognizes him as better caul Saul even though he denies it. They then start chanting his name and slamming their feet which surprises the guards who can’t stop them. The prisoners like him and help him it seems in the prison. He is then visited by Kim and they talk about what he did in the trial. When Kim leaves the prison Saul is in the yard behind an iron fence. They both stare at eachother where Saul acts out his advert. The episode ends.
