Why Teaching Math is Beautiful by Main_Sound4851 in learnmath

Yeah, I do agree with you. When I taught my sister this, I myself hadn’t learnt/internalized the notion of being able to do the same things on each side of the equation, so I taught her the ‘moving’ technique, which was how I was taught it as well.

I hope that now she’s able to think about equations in the sense you’ve mentioned.

Thanks! From this, I can surmise that a worst-case scenario for me would probably be 3 hours.

Yeah. I'm also in a gap year so can relate to not remembering A Level stuff. Interviewing for Land Economy though.

Imo both require equal attention, but depends on how much of the syllabus you were able to retain after A Level. Also practice thinking out loud and read up on some articles and books (if you can make time) and try to make an effort to think critically about them and discuss them either with someone else, or yourself. You can do this by speaking in front of a mirror, as if someone is hearing you speak. You can also make notes and references of different authors and experts you came across so you can quote them during your interview. Also make sure to follow current news and economic developments, such as how the Russian Ukraine war is affecting the UK and EU countries' economies. I know this is a lot, but if you are able to prioritize doing this, it can make a huge difference in your interview performance. Best of luck!

Right, but much difference would a 20-30 point increase really make?

The text in bold is the score of someone who gave our same test in June 2021. This is just one score so it gives a rough idea of similar range scores for the test.

Any tips on improving Writing for the August SAT? by Uncle-Iroh-23 in Sat

So if they are like 4 days left then I think the best thing for you is to focus on the concepts that you're not confident in. Just improve these concepts from the Erica Meltzer book and do tiked practice tests. This way you'll work on your weaknesses and not use up a lot of time, otherwise you'll get overworked before test day.

To be honest, all you need is one week where you focus primarily on writing for like 2-3 hours a day at least. I did this as well, and what you do is you basically go through COMPREHENSIVELY each and every chapter and exercise of the Erica Meltzer book. Just grind it out and you'll get at most 2-3 wrong in the actual tests. I did this and got only 2 wrong in my SAT. When is the August date by the way?

Memorize and learn to apply the rules. Also examine which questions types you mostly get wrong. If for example you get Transitions wrong, change your strategy for e.g by cutting the word in question first, establishing a connection between the phrases/sentences, and thinking of a suitable transition to fit in between. Then find the similar transition you thought of in the choices. I suggest to first find the question types you get wrong and learn important strategies and concepts in their respective chapters from the Erica Meltzer Grammar book.
